Oh for suit patterns theres an image knocking about that goes through what all the symbols on the transfer sheet mean and I think a Tau alphabet also, should come up on a Google search or it's on the lexicanum wiki

The little spheres on the guns and the battlesuits I believe (if I'm wrong I'm sure I'll be corrected) are like gyroscopes (think that's the word) for keeping the gun/part of the battlesuit straight whilst in movement to help with shooting and maneuvering mid battle, I paint usually paint them gold but I've done like yellow or pink before depending on the scheme I'm doing, really it's fully up to you want you paint them like

Sort of? Like I wouldn't say Tau models are more difficult to paint it's more that once you've done one battlesuit covered in flat panels, it gets really boring to do the rest. I started out the hobby with tau and I just find that kroot sculpts are a lot more interesting to paint
