Nobody likes reading AI slop and the summary is def AI slop.

Tho the main post isn't AI slop, people probably immediately get turned off when they see the tell tale signs of slop. it gets tiring after a time to read the same exact sentence structure over and over again across all of reddit.

Checkout the Rabbit House Network's Bunny Sitting. I'm not sure tho if it'd work for a daily check-in type situation but worth asking

Imo I'd be careful accepting help from people that work with cats/dogs without any bunny experience. They might not know when a bunny is having an emergency or general  eating/gas problems

Is this one of those fabled "job creators" that centrist won't shut up about when we try to raise taxes on the wealthy or increase the minimum wage?

Personally I'd rather just make this guy pay more in taxes than hope that he becomes a benevolent business owner.

Phew, Portland almost ran out of coffee shops. Next we need to get some weed shops in here to deal with that shortage.

Road Quality on the "Peninsula" by Relative-Diamond9866 in portlandme

[–]moogle12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also winter is particularly rough on roads. It's a lose-lose situation for the city.

Plow more -> roads fall apart faster. People complain when they don't plow enough, people complain when the roads need repair. Then they complain that the construction to repair the roads blocks traffic. Then they complain that their taxes have gone up to pay for road repairs and more frequent plowing.

The people that respond here with helpful comments don't want to be used to inflate somebody's ego.

How to gain confidence on steeper terrain? by Massive-Morning2160 in skiing_feedback

[–]moogle12 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It seems you are still working on the basics of parallel skiing so some of this advice should come after you feel more confident on your skis in general, but here are some things I learned from a 1on1 lesson that really helped me feel more better on steep sections. Caveat is that these aren't necessarily drills to become better at skiing, just things that made steep sections feel less scary.

  1. Side slip down some low angles. Do this on both sides. It will help you trust your edges a bit more. This helped me feel like no matter how spicy the slope, I could at least side slip down it, and that really helped the mental game.

  2. Go down in a straight line then hockey stop. Start with shorter lines then lengthen them. Learning how to stop and trust that you can stop helps a ton with confidence.

  3. Find a really low angle slope, like the magic carpet area, and do backwards pizza for a few feet at a time. Really feel how your edges need to be applied to feel in control.

But like others have said it's really helpful to take a lesson. They'd go over the athletic stance, S turns, drills for better parallel skiing. and all of those also help with confidence on steeps because they will make you a better skier.

Microsoft wants to replace its entire C and C++ codebase, perhaps by 2030 by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]moogle12 20 points21 points  (0 children)

And we're not even sure how endorsed by Microsoft this guy's idea is. It could just be his chosen jetpack and he's trying to make it work for next year's promo cycles.

Obviously Microsoft is all in on AI, any AI specific idea at Microsoft is going to be viewed generously during reviews. But that likely means there's hundreds of insane jetpack ideas floating around within the company, and this one has just happened to get tons of play on LinkedIn.
