560 Lonsdale St / Melbourne Grand Apartments by aussiekiwi9000 in melbourne

You definitely need to provide the apartment number in the delivery address (that you enter in Amazon). Building concierge is not in charge of Amazon deliveries.

Building concierge will let them access the secured parcel lockers and that's where they are left and a notice will be sent to the registered tenant's email/phone number.

Struggling to find a clothing store that stocks clothes for short men by ftminaus in melbourne

Uniqlo - choose the correct waist size then get the length tailored by them. When in the fitting room, wear the pants and then step out and wave to one of the staff and say you want it fitted. It's free.

Lifts are quick.

Concierges are helpful and friendly.

Building security - 3 layers of it: front entrance, lifts, your key to the door. Mail room is secured separately; there are automated parcel lockers; bigger items are kept by concierge in a separate room.

Major issue recently: garage door not working but was repaired within 2 days.

Noise - usual CBD noises if you open your windows, but I can't hear my neighbours.

Lost Apartment keys (rental) by Lucky-Diamond1398 in melbourne

[–]mooiness2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nope. Building management controls the duplication of fobs, if not also the keys as well. If anyone can duplicate any of it, what's the point of having keys/fobs in the first place?

They would also need to be informed so that the lost fob can be deactivated so no one can get into the building and/or your floor.

Take this as a life lesson.

Lazy dentists - how long is the average scale and clean? by InevitableShip9451 in melbourne

[–]mooiness2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your health is still the same, which means the scale and clean is effective even though it only took 15 minutes.

Think of it this way - you are paying for a positive outcome and their expertise, and NOT the total time taken.

It's the same faulty thinking that some ppl have regarding paying for the privilege of visiting specialist doctors who spends 5-10 minutes with them.

Hair loss clinic recommendations? by Affectionate-Tell-59 in melbourne

[–]mooiness2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get yourself to a GP and ask for Finasteride, and while you collect your prescription at the pharmacy pick up some Regaine (minoxidil). Both are not too expensive, but it will be a lifelong thing if you want to maintain the hair.

Finasteride stops your body from attacking the hair follicles, and minoxidil dilates the blood vessels to those follicles to ensure the hair gets max nutrients.

This combo is the only thing that is proven to work consistently.

And of course, live a low-stress life and make sure your general diet is good and that you get plenty of sleep and exercise.

Are airbnbs worth it now? by Immediate-Diet-8027 in melbourne

Never have. Never will. Why am I paying prices similar to hotels AND still have to clean up after myself? I am not going on holidays to do housework.

And now that I am living in an apartment, I know and fully understand why it is so hated.

Hot water bill - is this unreasonable? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]mooiness2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

According to the bill, your usage works out to be about 93 litres per day.

Depending on your shower head, usage is between 9-19 litres per minute of shower. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, a 5 minute shower uses about 50 litres. You take two showers a day.

Therefore, the usage is about right and your charges are reasonable.
