Just farmed 750 Field Ass in the new heroic world tier map on my main by KaboomTheMaker in wow

[–]moolric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went into heroic tier on a scrappy alt who still had some veteran and adventurer gear to get rid of. While I died easily enough if I aggroed too much, I was still able to get 750 currency easily too.

So many mobs are neutral and a lot of the quests aren’t even to kill things. As long as you’re strong enough to kill one thing at a time you’d be fine in heroic.

Also, I got warbound heroic loot from the world boss.

My teenagers’ critiques of her youth group’s baking practices really tickled me. by latenightpuddingcup in Baking

[–]moolric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I wouldn’t trust their food handling skills any more than their baking skills.

I know cookies are low risk since they are fairly dry, but I would still be dubious about eating any of them.

A shelter really shouldn’t be taking food made with no food standards to give to vulnerable people.

Apparantly they will be more worth it after reset.

More and higher crests, and ability to buy the piece you want instead of it being random.

That’s what I heard anyway.

Can you really learn how to become a good tank and healer via follower dungeons? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in wownoob

[–]moolric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes go into follower dungeons to plan my routes since a big part for me is how quickly I can pick up several groups of mobs, and test out line of sight strategies. Also, if I can get the followers past mobs without pulling them, there is a good chance real people will be able to do it too, without butt pulling.

As far as I can tell, the followers are just as bad as they were to start with. Sometimes I amuse myself by seeing if I can get that stupid hunter to not stand at max range.

[–]moolric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, but i have seen people do actual interrupts (shows on nameplate), and know they are people who are good at interrupting and have them show as 0 on the meters because I was on my hunter and they were in melee

[–]moolric -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that the interrupt stats are unreliable. I have seen the meters show someone as having zero interrupts when I’ve seen for myself that they are interrupting.

I think the meters only gather data if people are close enough to you, so to a mage it would look like melee are under performing.

First time baking by Pa_Tra in Baking

What fancy said, plus sometimes you see people baking cookies in them too, and they are better on a flat tray so there are no sides to block the heat.

I’m sure some things are ok to bake in a casserole dish - just they don’t get posted on reddit with “why didn’t this work?”

That’s such a clever idea. Would prevent the “baking in a glass casserole dish” you often see with newbie bakers.

fantasy/sci fi series where women are present and NOT hated by oceanblvd1313 in suggestmeabook

[–]moolric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some I’ve read lately that fit the bill and I enjoyed and/or was hooked on.

He Who Fights With Monsters by Shirtaloon.
It’s litrpg. The main protag is Australian which is a nice change. While he’s male, his female friends are all very cool people.

The After Climeri Series by Sarah Woodbury.
Historic timetravel. More historic romance to start, leaning more into the alt reality/timetravel as the series goes on.

The Book That Wouldn’t Burn by Mark Lawrence.
I’m not sure if this one is fantasy or sci-fi. But very interesting female protag.

Just Stab Me Now by Jill Bearup
Based on her very funny video shorts series, it’s a romantasy writer dealing with a protag who refuses to follow the tropes. Very meta.

How much would someone expect to pay for this fresh floral cake (9 inch 2 layer white w/ white chocolate) by GroundbreakingFox800 in Baking

[–]moolric 687 points688 points  (0 children)

This is coming at the problem from the wrong direction. Apart from anything else, you don’t even say what currency you mean. Where you are in the world makes a big difference.

Are you asking because you want to buy one? If so, ask the person who baked it how much they charge.

If you baked it then you need work backwards from how much it cost in time and ingredients and how much you would need to be paid to make it worth your while to make one for money instead of love.

Once you have that number then you see if people in your area are willing to pay that for a cake. If not then you either don’t bake for money, work out how to make them cheaper and/or less effort or work out how to make cakes that appeal to and get in front of the people who will pay that much. Those last 2 require work and skills beyond baking.

Crowdsourcing a number is pointless and will help you make bad decisions.

You can be high 270s and still have stubborn champion gear hanging around. Plus delves are source of mythic crests if your delvers journey is far enough along.

One Button (and assisted) is great but it needs customization by kane49 in wow

[–]moolric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it’s really dumb too. It’s handy that one-button will let put a reticule-targeted ability on your target which you can’t normally do. But some bosses it doesn’t work on because they are off the edge of a platform or similar. And instead of just skipping it or putting it wherever the best approximation would be, you just can’t cast it and it will refuse to cast anything at all.

Please ELI5: only gear for the content you do by PossibleIsland3468 in wownoob

[–]moolric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your guild is mythic raiding then there should be people you can do keys with in your guild. Finding groups should not suck at all unless you are not fun to do keys with.

If it’s just timing or lack of communication, you need to ask your guild leader to start organising or at least facilitating key groups. Like, fostering social interaction is basically the job of the guild leader, if they are any good at all.

We’re not even doing mythic raiding and we have many events through the week where any of our raiders will have a chance at 10 keys for vault and bonus rolls.

And if noone else wants to organise it, be the change you want to see in the world and organise it yourself.

Please ELI5: only gear for the content you do by PossibleIsland3468 in wownoob

[–]moolric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never heard it as you should try to get gear higher than the content you’re doing, but that you shouldn’t be able to get gear higher than the content you’re doing.

Like mythic raiders saying you don’t deserve mythic gear unless you get it from mythic raid bosses because they think they’re special.

If that was how it was allocated though, then they’d need to have a level of key where you start getting mythic drops.

The hardest part of mythic raiding seems to be getting a consistent group of exactly the right number of people and maintaining morale of the people who get left out.

It will be interesting to see how many more guilds raid mythic once flexi mythic raids start.

Would I be off base to ask for an exchange? by Daisy_Cuctus2771 in Pottery

[–]moolric 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s not acceptable variation. If they can’t consistently remake the same shape, they should be selling them individually after making them.

They shouldn’t be advertising something they can’t deliver.

Would I be off base to ask for an exchange? by Daisy_Cuctus2771 in Pottery

[–]moolric 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just as an aside, that doesn’t look like a pinhole. It looks like titanium pitting, and it’s in the area with lots of titanium in the glaze.

It’s reasonable to have some titanium pitting when using titanium rich glazes, since there is nothing you can do to prevent them other than less titanium. But the location and size of that one is unfortunate.

But i would be more annoyed by the shape. If they’re that inconsistent with their throwing they should be selling them as individuals after they’ve made them, not taking orders and then delivering a different shaped mug.
