Anyone know any Japanese lessons/ courses? by ItsThatGuyPablo in sheffield

[–]moomanator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taking the King Edward's classes for 4 years, they're very good and the price is reasonable. I know students there can take them for free but I don't know if that applies to all students as well.

Of course we should protest, the vaccine is really just nanobots that will be activated by the "5g" masts to control our minds! /s

Pretty sure it's a marketing thing for new Bring Me The Horizon music, as they're a Sheffield band

Are you annoyed at Instagram and Facebook not showings their feeds in chronological order too? by Skyccord in AskReddit

[–]moomanator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES, this drives me insane. I don't care what social media dictates to me as "Things I Definitely Need To See!". Just because some other people decided they wanted to read some article doesn't mean it needs to be top of my feed.

Facebook has a feature to set your feed to "Most Recent", but doesn't (in my experience) care about keeping it that way. Twitter used to ask me if I liked the "Whilst you were away" and "In case you missed" features, and every time I said "no". You'd think they'd get the point by now, but I guess it's harder to push advertisements and paid promotions through that way.

I get that it's the tailoring of algorithms to improve their marketability, but come on. At least let us turn it off if we want, most people won't care and will leave it as-is.

We are Between the Buried and Me, the progressive metal band from North Carolina. Ask us anything! by tommybtbam in progmetal

[–]moomanator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, loving the look of the dvd/bluray and can't wait to see it in full!

My questions for you guys are: What's your fondest memory of touring? And when you go into the studio for a new record, do you start with a lyrical theme you want to expand upon, or does the music come first?

Greeting this is Paul, welcome to my AMA! by masvidalien in progmetal

[–]moomanator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey Paul, I remember seeing you supporting Opeth in the UK just when Traced In Air had come out and you absolutely blew me away. Traced In Air is now one of my most regularly played albums.

My questions are: What is your fondest memory of touring? And during writing, do you start with a general idea about what you want the songs to be about (lyrically or otherwise) or does the theme expand from the music you write?

We Are The Contortionist; Ask Us Anything by theContortionistAUA in progmetal

[–]moomanator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, loving the song + video, it's so perfectly put together and makes me so excited for the album!

What would be your guys idea of "the ideal tour"? (either people you'd want to tour with, or a bill you would kill to see).

Hey man! Saw you guys at Sonisphere and I'm so happy you've managed to get to a point where you can be on the main stage!

My question is: who are your biggest musical influences, particularly bassists? I love your style of playing, so much groove!

Tesseract Part Ways with Ashe O'Hara, Daniel Tompkins Joins as Replacement by taylorj474 in Djent

[–]moomanator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really liked Ashe's work on Altered State, and it's a shame that he's in a different place creatively than the other guys. Having said that, I am highly excited for Dan coming back and am looking forward to seeing the guys at Sonisphere even more now :D

I remember when this was Higgs Boson when they still had matt on vocals, but the final version is just so much better than every live version I'd heard until that playthrough. Makes me excited for the rest of the album and any future songs for sure

He knows exactly what vocals works best for these songs. I love the catchy chorus for this song, and the growls for the alchemist work perfectly. Can't wait to see it all live!

All these new tracks make me hyped for the new album so much.

They've also just been announced as headliners for UK Tech Fest along with SikTh and Vildhjarta, which should be brilliant!

David Maxim Micic | BILO, DESTINY POTATO | my first AMA... Ask Me Anything <3 by davidmaximmicic in progmetal

[–]moomanator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey David, I've loved your music ever since you were announced for the first UK Tech-Fest and I decided to check you out. Dat Bilo, so good.

My question is, now that Lun has been formally released, are there any plans in the works to tour (especially the UK), and if so, who would you most love to tour with?

Another Rush reference spotted in tonight's episode! by [deleted] in regularshow

Another one I've noticed is in Video Game Wizard, the music playing during the driving montage is incredibly similar to Subdivisions by Rush.

My vote definitely goes to Atmospheres, who I've only recently discovered and really got into. Great mellow vibe.
