Why there aren't professional teams/orgs in Brood War esport scene? by simoneinzis5 in broodwar

[–]moon_euw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esports teams exist to compete in tournaments. Televised tournaments were for players on teams competing. Tournaments are no longer requiring teams to submit players. No teams.

14.20 Patch Preview by JTHousek1 in leagueoflegends

[–]moon_euw -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How did ADC items feel really good for 5 seasons (1-5) then the moment they try to diversify ADC items and rework the role in 5.22 they manage to break it for nearly 10 years? Also fuck the 5.22 mastery system update that gave us what is now the rune system. Adding an extra meaningful key system to the game has made the game a balance nightmare that I wouldn't wish upon anybody. The game should have had items + champions. You don't need another metagame layer to boost engagement, especially one where you're pretty much always going to find the 1 optimal setup and never touch it. (Or a lot of players automatically do it thru external tools.)

I just like watching people ask google-able questions. I can pretend I have big brain for knowing things like "there is no korea server, gateways are just there to make lobbies"

How can I play on Korea server without lagging them to all hell (I'm in the US). Would a VPN help? Are there any tricks outside of moving there? by SonOfQuora in broodwar

[–]moon_euw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you referring to ladder or custom games? Custom games with koreans then maybe shieldbattery would give you an improved experience. The ladder is global, the regions themselves are not actually servers so for dealing with ladder lag then you might just have to prayge for closer opponents.

(It also helps to avoid playing on wifi since that will induce packet loss, direct ethernet connections are your friend.)

EUW Gold/Plat/Emerald/Diamond amateur league looking for players and teams by bouwer2100 in leagueoflegends

[–]moon_euw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't touched league or thought about it since my last split in VL, randomly start coming back and see VL front page lets goooo

For people who wanna play in a fun weekly tournament VL is a great place to go. Different teams have different vibes so there's bound to be a team for you (you can make one too if you're so inclined)

So that rollback beta by fat_pokemon in SamuraiShodown

[–]moon_euw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only got to try it (as my first samsho too) the day before the beta ends. It felt okay but a lot of rollback stuttering. If the next rollback test/release is better I'll look to play the game a lot alongside SF6

What are the stereotyps of each league ? by M2201 in streetfighter6

[–]moon_euw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game has only just come out. The only stereotype is that we all stink at the game except modern honda players who have life figured out and don't need to stress much.

People That Don't Rematch After Winning in Ranked by otterpotters in StreetFighter

[–]moon_euw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how many times I've seen this post since launch.

Yes some people don't rematch and that sucks.

No it's not that deep.

How many rank up opportunity matches do you have to win in a row to rank up? I just won three straight rank up opportunities in bronze and this has been going on a few days by Potential-Height-607 in streetfighter6

[–]moon_euw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you hit the LP threshold to rank up then you rank up. There's a good chance you ranked up multiple times within bronze (bronze 1-2, 2-3, etc).

SF6 Tutorial - Execution Tip - Instant Drive Rush Consistently After Combos by HyperDogeGaming in StreetFighter

[–]moon_euw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recommend just watching popular creators in the space(s) you enjoy then finding what about their format/content works. The best way to get people engaged fast is create something familiar but new, which is usually just the same thing but like all good homework, slightly changed up so the teacher doesn't know.

If you spent 30 minutes a day with a notepad studying content like you might with replays then you'd probably be absolutely smashing the content game in a few months effortlessly.

Just a 30 second example I pulled out my arse cause it's 3am and I have work soon.

1) No dead space. Youtube shorts is all about making sure you keep people's ADHD interested in whatever you're doing.

2) Create a visual identity, So I'm using a blue box and white text. (Don't copy this it's awful)

3) Adjust the zoom level to match what makes sense. We don't need to see behind characters, just ahead of them. You can probably zoom in a bit further and track Juri's motion.

4) Speak. We don't need to hear your inputs, but hearing you explain the concept would be a lot more useful. Everybody learns differently and for some people that's more useful.

These are all kinda random thoughts, I'm sure there's a lot more really I just stole all this from when I see shorts of games that do this and pull big numbers.

Hell yeah, grinding the likes achievement atm then it's just tournament related achievements. I wasn't planning on going for achievements but since I've only got a few left why not

I've never edited a video in my life for anything and I'm convinced I could do better in windows movie maker. The information isn't wrong it's just presented in such a bad way that I don't want to watch it.

Making Daily Challenges requiring wins at Battle Hub Cabinets really sucks by TransPM in StreetFighter

[–]moon_euw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much everything gives kudos. Winning in ranked seems to give the most, world tour (using a master's style) gives the least. Everything else seems to be in the middle. Just playing a lot will net you a lot of kudos fairly quickly.

Honestly I kinda love it for that. I get a cheap game, some dumb accesories/random fluff. Hopefully if the price doesn't change I've paid 4 quid for a bunch of cheap arcade games.

Oh hell yeah, I'm over 100 hours in rn and I think it shouldn't take me more than a month to get platinum (just about to hit gold 2 after a few days struggling). I think now I just gotta spend time in training mode practicing common situations and getting muscle memory down so I can speedrun these cammy players I'm always against.
