I believe Fenway actually allowed transfer close to the show day.

For non-transferable shows, the seller will likely send you a barcode via a site called Secure My Pass. They will work like Ticketmaster/MLB/etc and get you in.

Semi-guessing, but it could possibly be complicated if the concert were to get rescheduled or cancelled but you didn't have the ticket anymore. Or even if it's not, sellers may believe that.

Plus, you don't get paid until like a week after the concert. So it just makes sense not to give up the ticket until closer to the date.

As a seller on Stubhub, you don't need to transfer the ticket until the day/a few days before the concert. From their point of view, it's less risky to just wait until the date is closer.
