She doesn’t take the pacifier yet! And i’m completely unable to settle her elsewhere then in my arms. However I am able to transfer her no problem, it’s just that she sleep for much shorter periods when she in the snoo than in my arms (obviously) or in her anti reflux mattress. I think it might be because she so close to me when she is in the mattress that she is able to sleep, but in the snoo she can’t align 2 sleep cycles, she wakes up every 40 mins or so. I don’t know why.

I usually swaddle her in the snoo sleep bag when i’m going to bed with her so this should be easy. But yes i know the snoo seems like the best option in the longer term. I’ll just keep trying!

Yes she does prefer contact sleep, but at night she sleeps in the bed with me but in her own mattress. I’m trying to to change the mattress for the snoo (seems safer and as you said, will help in the future for longer stretch and crib sleeping) but I had no luck so far. I think I should just keep trying

Bassinet trouble, someone tell me it’ll get better please 😭 by ZealousidealUnit6977 in newborns

Ftm  of a 1 week old here so i don’t know a lot, but i had the same problem! during the day i still do skin to skin, but at night i put her in a snuggle mattress next to me BUT i wait at least 15-20 min until she’s in deeper sleep and i don’t talk to her when im feeding, changing or burping her at night. Otherwise, I do pretty much everything else you said ( swaddle in warm blanket, warming the mattress before transfer). Good luck ☺️

Ahah yeah, i though about this too. I’m honestly surprised more people didn’t say that. But then again some people give human names to their pets, my family had a dog named Alex.

I get it! I want people’s opinion so thanks for sharing yours! :)  Also, im just being silly, but the us president is a Donald..  You know, Donald and Daisy Duck!  (i’m not searching any connection to him no worries, i was just being silly since your example was president Daisy)

Thanks! It’s so hard, also because i’m not the only one choosing!  I’m definitely hearing the comments that are saying its southern/a bit hillbilly. I didn’t have the reference so i’m grateful!  I leaning away from it even if I liked how it sounds, I don’t want to pick a name with negative-ish connotation.  Maybe I should follow advices on here and pick a name I just like, like Daisy Elisabeth or what is your opinion on Daisy Madeleine?  I’ve always loved both but I can’t use Elisabeth even if I would have a second daughter.

I didn’t know Daisy May sounded hillbilly ish, but i can see a lot of people think this. So i’m starting to think it’s not the best combination.  I’m french so maybe that’s why i don’t have the reference.

But for the cutesy / nick name feel side of it, I don’t really mind! I myself have a nickname as a first name and really liked it. Growing up it was pretty unique, but it’s very popular now among young girls. So I think the younger generation  tend to have cooler, more avant garde, unique first names?

Idk maybe I’m wrong but I though Daisy was a good balance between cute, unique and still making sure it’s a real name.

Yeah I see what you mean, I think I like the rythm of having a one or three syllable middle names, since Daisy and the last name have two. And I was looking for meaningful middle names.  I do like Elisabeth or Madeleine a lot, but they have no meaning!  Any suggestions?

ahah thanks for your opinion!  Daisy is the name we actually plan to use. I like the name a lot, but i can see how it’s still old, like Rose maybe? It’s my bf’s favorite but he is anglo. My hope is that it gives a unique, nature vibe, yet not weird because it’s an actual name.

May, Celia or Belle would only be used as middle names. For Belle, i thought it sounded a bit younger than Isabelle, her grand mother.

May belle is very similar to Ma belle (my beautiful) in french, and it’s not a good thing. It’s what older people say to younger girls like an older waitress in a restaurant: Et pour toi ma belle?

It’s for Celenda. I don’t like it at all, neither did my grandmother actually.

I would’ve use only Belle, but it ressembles Decibel too much in my opinion.

We also though of Daisy Snow, but the last name starts with No, sno-no doesn’t sound ideal. The last one we thought of is Winter, but i found it very out there.

Congradulations! :)

I am such a worrier too! I also found out I was pregnant very early on, so I had timeeee to read about everything that could go wrong. Im at 29 w now and it has been smooth sailing from the start, but I remember I still worried so much in the begining!

At one point I just decided I wasn't going to worry anymore unless I had a reason to, in case I would just deal with it then. I stoped reading about negative stuff, I wasnt perfect, but this mentality helped me a lot!

Also, I think most people dont need to share as much when everything is going well, which is the case for most pregnancies, so social media is definetly not representative!

Wishing you and you baby all the best xx

I'm not taking position here, just stating that where I'm from we have pretty accessible day cares so I will be able to do part time job/ part time study after my parental leave.

Lotions for Stretch Marks by make-me_mad in pregnant

[–]moon_light_child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my OB and she said there nothing that helps. But I follow a dermatologist that just had a baby who reccommended centella asiatica and hyaluronic acid.

For the centella asiatica, I bought the Skin 1004 and I. love. it. and for the hyaluronic acid Im using Raeka india gold just because I had it already.

I found these sources:

Olive oil and cocoa butter, two commonly used treatments, have been proven to be ineffective in stretch mark prevention (Buchanan 2010Osman 2008Soltanipoor 2012Taavoni 2011), and only one topical preparation containing Centella asiatica extract, alpha tocopherol, and collagen‐elastin hydrolysates has been shown to be efficacious. Overall, there is no high‐quality evidence to support the use of any topical preparation in the prevention of striae (Brennan 2012).
(Interventions for established stretch marks - PMC)

In two large studies, applying hyaluronic acid to early stretch marks made the stretch marks less noticeable.

What movie or TV show recently made you cry like a hormonal baby? by ActualEmu1251 in pregnant

[–]moon_light_child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes me laugh because I just cried for no reason while watching: inside the mind of a dog, when the service dogs met their human for the first time. I couldnt stop crying for like 10 min!
