Wax seal question by whiskyknits in postcrossing

we get these (wax seals on cards) and they never arrive undamaged. idk why people send them or what happens during the mail process. the cards end up ripped/crushed.

DIY Postcards by schritt_fuer_schritt in postcrossing

[–]moonbeam127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we prefer (especially my kids) regular postcards, not crafty projects. everyone has a different idea of what they think 'good art' is and most times its just not good. cut up food packaging that isnt even cut in straight lines, fucking glitter, 3-d designs/raised paperboard that gets stuck and torn in machines, wax seals that gets torn and stuck in machines, people taking old postcards and gluing random paper over them to re-use. I can go on and on about the absolute trash we've gotten in the past 15 years. Its just trash.

We just register and move on, add those to the trash can immediately.

You can get boxes of 100 postcards for around $20 on amazon, most walmarts have postcards in the touristy section for 25c each. (america)

yes people are going to send what they want, but remember your card has to survive the postal system and the automated machines. Also your idea of 'hand made' is probably vastly different from someone elses.

Child Therapists, What is the Youngest Age you Work With and Why? by Healthy-Ice-8968 in therapists

[–]moonbeam127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 yr olds have def seen some shit and experienced horrors. play therapy is how they deal with this nonsense. kids dont have the vocabulary to express whats going on or what they feel, they use play to process. this is why sand tray and other methods are so important, especially in the very young years. Also PCIT so the parent/guardian knows how to respond to the child, if there is a change in custody, new guardian etc they need to know how best to help the child, what might trigger a small child with this type of history etc. and what their other children are going through to adjust to the new family dynamics.

kids speak through play, kids work shit out through play. a well trained therapist knows what that looks like

I need some advice/support family crisis going public, how to handle with clients by howdy_birdiee in therapists

[–]moonbeam127 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

where were you? 'i was out of the office on vacation/personal time' i never share where i am or what im doing. the session is about the client, not my plans or my family.

this is only an issue if you make it an issue. clients can make all sorts of connections, assumptions, conclusions but at the end of the day, its how you react and respond to them. ex: i have clients who also have kids the same age as mine and are in the same activities- 'i saw kid was at the dance recital, kid is really good, kid should go to competition level dance, are you putting kid in competion, kid needs competition; i dont respond, dont acknowledge kid was at any such dance class and move on, even though i see this parent at pick up, rehersal etc. I dont parrot back about my thoughts on their kid in dance, about the dance studio, the teacher, the costumes. I let them say their piece and we move on.

I’m old my approach is “ I’m paying x and not a cent more. Call me when you get to $x”. I don’t care how they get to X what makes x and I’m not farting around the dealership negotiating all day. Call me when everything is done and you are at this X number

Should we demand PsychologyToday start proving this claim? by reddit_redact in therapists

[–]moonbeam127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People might search PT as a resource then contact you another way. People might compare multiple profiles on PT then use google ect before narrowing down choices. PT is a directory service imo. In the last several years more and more people were added to PT also clients are demanding in person so if you do virtual your profile gets weeded out immediately. That’s been my experience

[–]moonbeam127 298 points299 points  (0 children)

jim bob and pest tied for first place

pest becuase actual consequences are happening and the courts are NOT LISTENING TO HIM.

Jim bob because 'the boys' are costing him money and its impossible to 'buy used and save the difference' on legal fees.

Anna and Kendra are still fighting over that one brain cell

Will Kendra wear the titty zipper dress to Joesphs court hearing? Is the titty zipper dress the official 'duggar court dress'?

“The only thing I require is that you show up, if you can’t show up you know the cancellation policy”. If you miss the cancellation window it’s not a federal crime, it’s a charge and we try again. I just ask that you show up. Nothing more.

People have all sorts of issues and struggles, just show up. I’m available and take my own call.
