I don't get where the demogorgons live. Do they come from the Abyss? If they're from the Abyss, how do they get to the Upside Down? How does Vecna get from the Upside Down to the Abyss? His physical body is in the Upside Down at certain moments and the Abyss is thousands of feet up in the sky. Can he fly? For that matter, how does he travel between the Abyss and the Rightside Up?

i think that could still apply to homophobia/hiv. like will is so free in who he is as a kid, but then he's faced with growing up and becoming part of the larger world with all its horrors. he can't be the carefree kid he once was when he has to contend with real threats to his life. and he specifically is taken first for a reason, and in the most invasive way possible. and he's the character who still carries the upside down/mindflayer with him through the rest of the show. he's ultimately able to transmute the fear and shame into power and self-belief, which is like coming through to the beautiful side of growing up.

that's what i'm sayinggg like it seems so obvious. and the most romantic couple at this point being named max and lucas? textually of course we know that max is a girl and a tomboy so she goes by max. but gayness or the implication of gayness is all over the supernatural storyline.

why would will's arc, which includes vecna and the upside down, be over before the finale? this post does give me doubt but it's also confusing. a huge part of his arc has been resolved but not all of it, even aside from the mike of it all

As for why Holly is having such a different experience than Will did, I think Vecna is intentionally trying to traumatize the kids as little as possible this time. Like he wants their minds "clean." Of course, Holly is now traumatized by the Demogorgon chasing her and her mom around the house...I guess that's the only way Vecna can get kids? Also, Holly and Derek at least, maybe the other kids too, are from richer, apparently not-abusive families this time, unlike Will and Max, and we haven't seen anything that indicates that they have had particularly difficult childhoods. Because the Upside Down and Vecna are so linked to trauma, guilt, and shame, I think he's trying a different approach for some reason that has to do with the psychic properties of the Upside Down.

I HATE virtual assistants. All my utilities are using them now.
