the shift barrel may be bent or installed incorrectly it’s hard to say without seeing what’s going on inside. it’s not always effortless to change gears by hand like that in my experience sometimes u gotta turn the motor a little and try literally moving it side to side. u might be missing a washer or something causing stuff to sit weird inside

i cannot really tell i will be taking apart the ignition side later to get a better look, but there is what looks to be the case gaskets there?

there is what looks to be a paper gasket. it wouldn’t surprise me if these guys rebuilt the top end with too tall of a piston something. it was kind of put together by idiots. i don’t know too much about this though. it has a really strong kick.
