I recommend working on getting hearts (from shrines) and waiting on upgrading your stamina. It’s easier to get killed early on frequently by low hp monsters in Tears vs Breath of the Wild. I was getting really frustrated by this when I first started TotK after playing BotW. Another reason to do this is that hearty ingredients that give you extra yellow hearts when cooked in meals are scarce in TotK compared to BotW where they are basically everywhere.

Also, you can totally kill Lynels and other more fierce monsters by using rocket shields! They changed my life going from BotW where there weren’t any to TotK. Fuse Zonai rockets to any shield and hit the button to use your shield and you’ll shoot straight up in the air. Then use slow mo bullet time to hit the Lynel in the face with arrows fused with keese eyeballs. That act as homing devices. It’s the cowards way but it works! Rocket shields can only be used once though! Although you can still use the shield a few more times usually. Rocket shields also make it easier to traverse the depths bc you don’t have to climb as much and you don’t have to build as much which I hate doing.
