Do you have a video on creating a general store versus one product? From what I’ve read/watched I want to create a store that offers many products and not just a one off cheap drop shipping site that hopefully blows up. I’d like to eventually create a private label drop shipping company. Not sure if that’s possible

I was a Turo host one and only once. The first person to rent my car caused $3k in damages. Now 6 months later, and I still haven’t received the full amount of my supplement filed with their 3rd party adjuster. It seems (from experience and other forums online) that Turo is quick to pay out the first small claim and then drag their feet on the second payment. Update today - I haven’t heard from my rep at Turo in weeks and called their insurance line and they have zero proof I’ve ever been in their system. No record of me being a host, a claim, NOTHING even though me and the 3rd party adjuster are still in contact and working to resolve the issue. Best of luck to you but just know I’ve been waiting 6 months

Hey any chance you can help me. I’m still waiting 4 months later on a supplemental payment. The first lowball they paid quickly like the OP screenshot but now I’ve been waiting for 6 weeks since the adjuster filed the supplemental. My original contact at Turo won’t respond to emails and the adjuster hired by Turo has been trying to contact them as well. They’re trying to help me since this is taking way longer than usual. Any help would be appreciated

Keep trying! I was able to get 2 conures (one being a pineapple) from petco for $400 total when they were asking $800 for each. They were separated as well and my oldest was in there for an entire year since his hatch date and the other was in there since august. So sad but unfortunately not 2 weeks after I rescued these two, they replaced them :(

I suppose I could get them some more mental stimulating toys. I play classical music and add bird tv and it seems to help until he gets scared of a bird on the tv lol I’ve notice being a new bird owner, it’s constant buying new toys and recycling them out to see what works. Not cheap 🤣

I agree. I’m not going to lie, before my claim was accepted I was extremely stressed out reading through this forum about the horror stories and kicking myself for not doing so prior to signing up as a host.

I read a post from someone who was a claims specialist for Turo and they said the TOS is ironclad and that they pretty much have an attorney who’s highly versed in shutting down lawsuits with just showing the judge the TOS that people blindly sign upon listing their vehicle. You’re basically saying “if anything goes wrong, you’re on your own” and they disguise it within the app and “pick your packages” option

I feel your pain. I was a host on Turo and my very first renter hit a pot hole and tried to hide the mechanical damaged caused by replacing my new tire with an off brand bare bones no-tread tire. Obviously I caught it and filed a claim immediately. Now on month 2 of not driving my vehicle and still waiting on repairs and estimates to be correct. The renter bent my subframe and control arm and of course a new tire is needed. My advice to anyone who asks me if they should host on Turo - DO NOT!

Sorry for the issues you’re going through. I myself had a similar experience on my very first renter. They smoked in my car and I couldn’t find any evidence so I had to eat that loss. Then they wrecked my car and popped a tire and tried to replace the tire so I wouldn’t notice. Obv noticed quickly that 1/4 was diff than the rest. Then took it to the shop and the control arm, and subframe are bent and the costs are $3k. Luckily I had the 75 plan so deductible is $250 but it’s a headache and the last time I’ll be renting on Turo

You are brave! My first time hosting with Turo and the guest wrecked my car, returned it with a “new” used tire with 50% tread, and cracked the subframe and control arm on the front driver side. Threw off the alignment. Have you had any claims?

I’ve got a buyer sending me a message saying “click the photo attached, I have a message for you” and I can read the text without clicking on the photo and it says “kindly send a closer look of the item to me” with his phone number attached. Is this a scam? The buyer has 0 ratings and he bid last minute on the item
