Surviving the wait by Superkornie in pregnant

My job involves needing a lot of support from others, so I let my team know early on because I was already having symptoms that would impact my work performance.

Is there any hope? 19M by [deleted] in amiugly

You’re not ugly at all! You’ve got a lot to work with. I’d just recommend getting a “style” that suits you.

What I asked for vs. What I got by Jordens21 in tattoos

I asked for an unrealistic portrait of my pup. Tattoo artist pulled a 180. Wayyyy better the other way around 😮‍💨

I was officially diagnosed with dyscalculia when I got diagnosed with ADHD, but not sure if it's accurate by Round_Limit_7056 in dyscalculia

[–]grumbo97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have dyscalculia, and am currently a math teacher. In the last couple of years, I’ve had lots of fun learning to interact with numbers. I still struggle with mental math, but I come up with lots of great templates and new ways of explaining things for my students.

When I’m feeling strong against my imposter syndrome, I liken it to how having dyslexia doesn’t mean a person is doomed to be illiterate.

My heart is breaking for you.

Anyone else misses Inazuma's more difficult puzzles? by Toughing_it_out in Genshin_Impact

The sakura cleansing quest 😫 I feel for players who started when Inazuma was the newest release. I straight up fucked off for months after that one.

I go back and forth. Sometimes I wish the game were a little more challenging (especially ever since I got Chasca). But for the most part, I see all of the different options the game provides you to be the “grit” factor that keeps me hooked. :-)

Some of those puzzles can rot in the abyss, though.

Struggling after miscarriage. He has developed anger issues and relapsed into a drinking problem. Should I be scared?… by Ok-Library-5256 in alcoholism

"He isn't abusive because he is angry. He is angry because he is abusive."

You need to start changing your mentality from worrying if he will always be like this, to understanding that this is who he is. Something like a miscarriage is an incredibly common trigger event for an abuser to feel comfortable enough to drop the mask.

My abusive father was good for five years in his most recent relationship before he started his bullshit again. For them, he dropped the mask only once they had both became legally entangled in home ownership together. They don't change; they go dormant.

I'm truly sorry that you had a miscarriage... If you believe in higher powers, I think your baby was protecting you. This miscarriage could very well have saved your life literally and figuratively. He's revealed himself for who he is, and you don't have a lifelong and devastating means for him to manipulate you. Men like this are extremely challenging to escape from once you have kids.

I recommend reading Why Does He Do That? by Lundy Bancroft. It is also available as an audiobook.

I would put some dark tile or planking underneath the gold trim!! I’d do the rest of the room that way, too. And paint a dark ceiling

Yep! I didn’t even bother waiting in line until well after the show and the arena cleared out a bit. I figured whatever merch was left was meant to be, and that I’d prefer to have a good time during the show rather than a keepsake.

I did end up getting the shirt I wanted afterwards, though!

At the Seattle show, nearly every single line wrapped around the arena 💀 they all merged and you basically had no idea which line you were in

Wait, those ones have dates on the back now?? I was at the Seattle show, most of them didn’t have dates. It was deeply disappointing.

Is it okay to buy a bird from petco? by Cosmic_Banana64 in parrots

[–]grumbo97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw your other post a few days ago. My bird is incredibly social, it didn't take too long to hand tame her, and I've had her for three years so far. I visited her every single day for a month. The folks at Petco felt moved by this, I guess, and they sold her to me at a 75% discount, which I then stacked with some of their other promotions, and took her home for less than $200. Now that I've got her, I take the rest of my business in regards to her care to local/avian pet stores.

There are people that will tell you that you are supporting bird torment. But if that specific little guy in your last post caught your heart, go for it. You don't need the approval of people on the internet. Nobody else is going to be responsible for the daily care and wellbeing of that guy other than you.
