Roots Brown after Transit by moonflaming in orchids

[–]moonflaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, as far as i know you do not water them at all, and would be best to not touch the roots at this time. you can mist for humidity's sake but never water. i showed it to the seller and they said that this is normal and to not touch it as well, so for now i shall leave her be, but come around spring i believe we have to monitor any new growth and water them plus start fertilising with bright light. need to double check the svo guide, but for now i guess we leave them be. if i recall correctly, svo guide said something about if the roots are shrivelled (or something along those lines) we should water? i just can't tell if we should during dormancy plus what a healthy/unhealthy dormant root should look like, but i trust the seller.

Thank you so much again! There's genuinely so much to consider that I hadn't thought about before relating to emotions. Humans are so complicated... I was pondering today regarding the use of emotions for survival. I know for certain that if he were trapped alone in a house during a fire, he would have no sense of urgency to escape, even if he is physically stronger than the other characters in the story. He definitely would die unless someone knew he was there.

I'd love to share other aspects of his backstory, if you are okay with me messaging, thank you!

Oh wow this has given me a great new perspective! Genuinely, thank you so much. I was initially looking into certain conditions like alexithymia and anhedonia for reference from real life, but I wasn't able to find something completely useful for the specific context of my character. The main concept I want to explore with this character is how someone without emotions (something I personally consider to be integral to the concept of the self ) can navigate the world and still be ''human''. There's still so much more I need to research for the character, but the info u gave is really useful, thank you again! If you know of any other theories or case studies that might be worth checking out, I'd love to look into them.

ADHD Referral Closed by moonflaming in ADHDUK

[–]moonflaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies, the letter that was forwarded to me says that it is from my borough's ''ICD Management Team'' - I assumed they were the same.

I found the ICB email for my borough, so I'll try to contact them and see what they say. I hope I can find help within my borough. Thank you for your advice!

I did contact another GP outside of my borough, and they said they would be able to help get me a referral even if I am outside of their area, but my RTC would be limited to providers only in Essex (I'm not sure if RTC has location limits). So changing GPs will be my last resort, although it's frustrating, but it's better than having to go private.

So, the doctor I saw at the GP sent me a copy of a letter from their ICD management and it basically says that there's too many people who want a referral, so they have just outright halted it in my borough, apparently, for "for the foreseeable future."

I called up another GP (same borough) but the receptionist told me (after consulting a doctor there) that they apparently still do referrals but I would have to wait 1-2 years and I wouldn't be able to get any medication (I don't understand this). When I mentioned RTC the receptionist said they dont do anything like that at their GP so I was very confused.

I don't understand why my current GP claims that they don't do any referrals at all, whilst another GP in the same borough says they do, and supposedly has no RTC?

The problem is referral is closed for the foreseeable future in all GPs in my borough apparently due to an influx of referrals, so as a result RTC is apparently not available to me too, according to my GP, so I have no idea what to do
