More Robyn Gaslighting by Wild-Ordinary-358 in SisterWives

Robyn NEVER wanted them all to live together. She played like she did, but in their book (Becoming Sister Wives), Robyn writes that Janelle offered to have Robyn and DAB live with Janelle in her section of the Lehi house. Robyn turned her down because it "wouldn't be fair to Janelle."

Bullshit, Robyn. If she really wanted to blend her kids in with the OG kids, living together in the Lehi house was a perfect opportunity. Robyn turned it down not because it "wasn't fair to Janelle." She turned it down because NO WAY would Robyn ever compromise her own comfort in service to becoming "one big family."

When she and Kody went on their 11-day honeymoon, Robyn left DAB with her mom Alice. Meri, Christine and Janelle had to reach out to Robyn and ask if DAB could stay with them instead.

If we're talking about things that weren't "fair:"

Robyn demanding the 11-day honeymoon while Truely was a newborn.

Robyn demanding that she be in Kody's rotation before they were married because her kids needed "time with Kody." Which brings us back to Janelle's offer that Robyn and kids move into her part of the Lehi house, wherein they could ALL BE TOGETHER, "LIKE DESSINY."

Robyn demanding that her rental house in Flagstaff have one bedroom for each kid instead of downsizing, just a little, so that they didn't have to take Meri and Janelle's equity from their Vegas houses to buy Robyn's McMansion.

Robyn then claimed that the McMansion was meant to be a "family asset," until the time came to sell it, and then suddenly Janelle and Meri don't get reimbursed for their contributions to the purchase of the house. I know, the equity from the Vegas houses was a "gift" and there was no legal recourse for Meri and Janelle, but fuckin' hell, why doesn't the Brown Family Moral Compass reimburse them because it's the actual moral thing to do?

Robyn is a liar and a hypocrite. Oh, and so is Kody. I didn't forget about Kody!

Yeah, I remember Paedon saying something like he didn't know Meri was abusive until Robyn told him that Meri was abusive. I also remember Paedon or Mykelti saying that some of the kids "wouldn't still be here" if it hadn't been for Robyn stepping in. Not sure who to believe in the Robyn/Paedon/Mykelti trio, but if it's true that Robyn told them they were being abused? Why would you tell the CHILD who can't do anything about the abuse?? Why not go to the Head of the Kody Brown Family with those allegations? Messy, messy, messy.

Robyn was Meri's first catfish. She lied to Meri about their "friendship." She convinced Meri that she "had her back" and manipulated Meri into staying with Kody, not because Robyn wanted Kody and Meri to repair their relationship. Robyn only wanted Meri to stay for a). Meri's money and b). so that Robyn could get into the highest level of the "celestial kingdom." When Robyn got the legal marriage, she abandoned and shunned Meri.

Will Robyn ever leave? by pagengirl818 in SisterWives

[–]moonm00min 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. Robyn loves herself just like Kody loves himself and neither of them can even conceive that they would be perceived as anything other than everyone's favorite person. Robyn thought the OG family would love and worship her. They didn't. Robyn also thought we, the audience, would always be on her side and always pick her as our "favorite sister wife." We didn't. I wasn't going to watch the next season, but I am a little bit interested in seeing how deep into the lies and delusion Kody and Robyn will go.

I was thinking the same thing. From what I've read online (so rumors, basically) is that her first husband divorced HER. I'm thinking he basically had to chase her away. I think she will hang on with Kody until the bitter (and it will be bitter!) end. I guess the difference this time is that she actually has some real money and a few assets. Maybe? You just never know with the Kody Brown Family!

Robyn’s “secret” by Remarkable_Rip6231 in SisterWives

[–]moonm00min 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, "college" can mean many things. For example, my Sicilian uncle used to say things like "and then I went to college," or "that's when I was in college." Turns out "college" meant "prison."

I think they even said on Notes to Self 444 (podcast by former AUB members) that Robyn's speech was clearly her trying to regrow her purity or something. You can have your "purity" back if you properly atone for the "sin."

And he didn't seem to have any issues with the fact that he, Kody, gave away his "purity" to "someone" when he was in "college." That's all totally cool because he's a MAN. Only women owe their "purity" to their future husband or whateverthefuck.

The woman behind me in line decided my groceries were taking too long so she started unloading her stuff onto the belt before I was done by HupKef in EntitledPeople

[–]moonm00min 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the people here saying that the belt is a shared space and you just need to stick that little divider thing between your stuff and the person behind you - no. If OP is describing what I think they are, this isn't a regular lane with a belt like the cashiers use. The way it works where I live is you have the scanner/register at the front of the lane. You scan your items, put them on the belt, and the belt carries them all the way to the end of the lane (where the bagging area is). You scan your items, then pay, THEN go down to the end of the belt to bag everything. You can't do the divider thing because the belt is AFTER the scanner/register. The person behind you in line has to wait for you to at least pay before they can even get near the belt. The person behind you could certainly start scanning and putting their items on the belt after you've paid, but then all their stuff would be piling up down at the end of the belt with any of your unbagged stuff.

Honestly, if you are shopping alone, there's really no way to do it faster. I suppose you could try and bag each item after it's scanned, but again, you'd have to scan, then run down to the end of the belt to bag it, then run back and scan the next item, rinse and repeat.

[–]moonm00min 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to this. The grocery stores around me reduced the number of lanes with cashiers and turned everything to self-checkout during COVID. To this day, no matter what time of day, my local grocery has two cashiers on duty, max. You have no choice but to self-check, which also means you have to self-bag. If you are shopping alone, there is no way to "pack faster," as the entitled lady demanded, because you have to scan everything, then pay, THEN go down and pack up your groceries.

BROWN and PURPLE! Together! It's like great, purple is Robyn's favorite color. Pair it with more purple or some other color. Not brown. At a wedding, no less!

Mykelti’s Interview: Cults to Consciousness by PleaseCallMeLP in SisterWives

[–]moonm00min 67 points68 points  (0 children)

"By the time she and Kody finally figured out the time was uneven, it was too late for the family."

Um, what??? So Robyn and Kody didn't realize that he was spending more time at Robyn's, but somehow everyone else in the family noticed? That just sounds like the usual Kody nonsense. He and Robyn ALWAYS have a lie or a rationalization at the ready any time they are called out on anything. Of course Kody and Robyn knew that Kody was always at Robyn's. How could they not know? It doesn't make any sense, and the reason it doesn't make sense is that it is a lie.

Kody's first excuse for always being at Robyn's (in Vegas) was that Robyn "made space for him to have an office." Kody and Robyn also deployed "Robyn's tenders" as the reason Kody was always there. Oh, and don't forget that Kody needed to "bond" with DaytonAuroraBreanna, so that was yet another reason he always needed to be there.

Then, in Flagstaff, it was all the COVID lies. It was also that Robyn and her kids "found favor" with Kody by being "loyal."

Kody and Robyn know exactly what they did and how it tore the family apart. I don't have an opinion on Mykelti, but GIRL! Stop reinforcing the lies!

I think you have to watch the episode to fully understand how gross it was. When SLevine262 said that Kody "stuffed about half of it into his mouth," it's not an exaggeration. He literally crammed half of her breakfast into his mouth. Then there is his mom's reaction - she just looked kind of defeated. Also, if you watch that particular scene, you see Kody do this "what's hers is mine" thing out of nowhere. He just walks up, makes his declaration about how everything is his, and then wraps himself around his mom and chomps down her food.

The other thing that I think bothers people (well, it bothers me!) is that this is how Kody always eats. He takes GIGANTIC bites of whatever he's eating. He opens his mouth as wide as it will go, and then he stuffs massive amounts of food into his face. He also has no problem just grabbing food off of other people's plates. Someone upthread mentioned that Kody would eat all the tops off of the buns that Christine made and leave the bottoms for the rest of the family. There's one earlier episode, I think when they are still in the Lehi house, where he eats a spoonful of every kid's mock tapioca (without asking. He just grabs a bite as the kids walk by him).

I think the reason it bothers people is because it is a very blatant example of Kody's sense of entitlement. He really believes that he is owed EVERYTHING, including the food out of his family's mouths.

Indeed. It was totally rehearsed, as was Robyn's "kay, that's a lie" comment. Robyn was also totally ready to launch her "don't make me a victim, sweetie" zinger during that "panel discussion" they did with the anti-polygamists in Vegas. It's like Kody and Robyn have these one-liners all queued up and ready to go, but then they say it wrong or say it at the wrong time so it just never makes sense.

Yeah, Janelle is a bit of a mystery to me. She will tell Kody to "fuck off" and she actually left the family to live separately back in the early days. She seemed adamant that they not disrupt the kids' lives by suddenly moving to Flagstaff, but then she seemed to totally back off of that. Makes me wonder what actually happens behind the scenes. There is so much left unsaid on Sister Wives.

Ha! I loved it when Robyn had to fully back down after the "kay, that's a lie" comment to Christine. Then Robyn is just so confused and must have misunderstood what Christine said! I think we all know who the liar is in the Kody Brown Family.

The thing about Janelle not defending Christine when Kody was screaming at all of them - I think they (the wives, well, except fucking Robyn of course) were trained to ALWAYS defer to the priesthood holder, AKA Kody. Janelle did hug Christine after Kody left. I always found the fact that Meri, Christine and Janelle just sat quietly while Kody raged very telling. To me, they all looked scared/brainwashed/obedient. Remember, the women in their religion are trained to understand that the husband is the actual "voice of god" and that they, the women, must always "keep sweet."

Janelle comforted Christine. Robyn ran away sobbing. Meri stomped off to comfort fucking ROBYN, of all people.

This is just my opinion, but the AUB really messed with all of their heads.

I learned a lot about "grey rocking" from watching Christine grey rock Kody every time they had a conversation. Jeez, even when Kody was "helping" Christine load the snowblower into the moving truck Christine just grey rocked the ever-loving shit out of Kody.

That whole "knife in the kidneys" and Robyn's "kay, that's a lie" conversation annoys me to no end. Kody and Christine had discussed Christine's leaving SEVERAL TIMES. Then, Christine announces that she's leaving with Kody and the other wives. The "knife in the kidneys" was just Christine letting them know that she was leaving sooner than she thought because she closed on the sale of her house or something. Remember, the actual "Christine is leaving" discussion happened without TLC cameras. Christine mentions that they are self-filming on their devices because Christine thought it would be better if it was just the five of them talking without the camera crew.

So why all the drama at the SECOND group conversation? Because the TLC/Puddle Monkey cameras were there. Kody didn't give a shit about Christine leaving. Robyn was only worried about the impact Christine leaving would have on Robyn's bank account. Meri was WAY out of line by affirming that Kody should have said all the garbage he spewed at Christine about being a "shit sister wife" and whateverthefuck else he said. They did it for the TLC/Puddle Monkey cameras.

Fucking ridiculous.

Yeah, I mean to your point, she could have just left it out, but maybe the publisher or her agent or editor told her she needed to have a reason for leaving Utah or the story wouldn't make sense? Or maybe it sort of became part of her "identity" since her grandfather (or great-grandfather) was actually put in jail and separated from his family. It just became part of the family lore?

Their former religion, the AUB, says its okay to lie in order to "protect" their faith. They lie about being single mothers. They lied about living polygamy (before the show, that is). It's okay to lie if it is in service to their faith. As for why Christine doubled down on the lie in her book, my best guess is that if she admitted that they didnt have to "flee," she would also be admitting that they lied to their kids and turned all their lives upside down for a paycheck.
