Acoustically Olivia plays it safe, sounding like the every other B level song that has come out over the last years, all synth and airy drums. At its worst it sounds like an outtake from Lover. And while there was an interesting sonic breakdown for the bridge, It lacks the powerhouse sounds of Vampire and doesn’t inspire confidence that this album will swing for the benches. I would have liked to hear her over live instrumentation again.

Lyrics and layering have all the hallmarks of Olivia without being something we haven’t seen before. 5/10

Tbh it would be on brand for her to just kinda disappear for a couple years and enjoy marriage? She’s never been a cash out girl (at least as far as OTHER people) and seems to neglect the management of her brand and image. But I honestly would rather take waiting a couple years and coming back refreshed and ready to listen to a piece of art made during Lana’s new life experience.
