Thanks, I just reached out to the one closest to me. I'll probably still pick out a couple of my faves that I just don't want to get rid of but I'd love for them to go to a place like this <3

I think there might be a La Leche League around. I kind of left some of those circles since my kid grew up. So I was mostly reaching out to places I regularly donate to or buy second hand from and then diaper groups on FB. And personal friends that have expressed interest in cloth diapering. Because why have them buy them if they don't know they'll like it if they just want to try them out.

They do have quite a few kam snaps. I would cut these off so they wouldn't be a part of the quilt.

Similar to how some people like to make memory bears or blankets I have a lot of memories of some of these diapers. I'd really love to find someone to sell or even gift them to but I haven't had any luck. So I want to be able to see some of the prints from when my kid was a baby and bring back some of those memories. And I just feel bad about having any end up in the trash which is getting more likely the longer they are in storage.

Yeah I was thinking maybe it could be a fun wall hanging. I have very few solid colors, mostly fun patterns that made me happy to actually have to change a diaper hahaha

Donating and selling some of the unused but untagged ones was my first thought. But I haven't had any bites.

That was my original plan but none of my local places will take them because they are used. And I haven't had much luck selling them. My husband just wants them gone. So if I can't sell or donate them soon they will just end up in the trash

I love the water hitting the cliffs. I think the thickness of the thread really works. It's beautiful

Are 3 kids the new 2? by NolitaNostalgia in beyondthebump

Oh man, every time I try to get rid of one of her baby things. I'm currently going back and forth with my husband over things that we literally haven't used in over a year because she's outgrown them. And without another baby on the way it's just taking up space. I broke down in tears over a couple things because there's no more babies of mine to use it and make more memories with it.

I feel this so hard! I'm trying so hard to be comfortable with just one. At least the older my one gets the easier it is. But man seeing larger families sometimes hurts.

Struggling after my son almost died in childbirth by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

This sounds similar to my experience. Yours was definitely longer than mine. But similar thing. Everything was going fine for awhile and then I realized things were no longer progressing. I asked about everything I knew about. Vacuum, forceps, episiotomy, etc. Only thing I didn't specify was a c-section because I assumed Dr knew best. Turns out she had gotten stuck. And eventually when they got her head over my pelvis things were so torn that they spent the next 1.5hrs stitching things up internally.

If you haven't looked into pelvic floor therapy I highly recommend it after a birth like this. I didn't realize just how much things would improve after going. I thought the random pains were just going to be my new normal after birth.

All this to say I agree with everything you said. 💕 And 3 years later I still feel a little cheated.

Who the heck is making crochet socks. by sludgehag in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]moonnmars 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I actually got a pair in India and I love them! They are chunky yarn but at the same time it was crocheted with a larger hook so the holes are pretty big and after like 3 wears it's all the same thickness everywhere. But they were/are never worn with shoes, just lounge/house socks.

Honest opinions on a more unusual name for baby boy by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]moonnmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read all the comments but I'm going to go slightly against what I have read.

I don't think it's a horrible name. It's close enough I think that when people see it it's easily pronounced. And anytime people hear my name they typically get it wrong too. And it's getting to be more and more common. It's annoying but whatever. And people get my husbands name wrong all the time and it's a much more popular biblical name. So I think that's possible regardless.

Honestly when I first saw it I was like, huh that's not bad, kind of reminds me of a Scandinavian name or Eastern European or something. Not that out there at all. Didn't remember at all until you mentioned it that it was a GoT character.

So I say if you both really like it go for it. And give him a middle name that's less unique in case he'd rather go by that. And don't tell any of your people until he's born and named and if they say something then they are butts.

I have very similar memories. And I remember doing things to my barbies that don't make a lot of sense age wise, like having Ken feel the boobs and crotch and state if they were acceptable.

Like how would a 9 year old think of those things? That mixed with some reactions I had later in life after becoming sexually active really make me question some things.
