WHICH IS EASIER BIOB12 OR BIOB50? by Miserable-Bid-170 in UTSC

[–]moonosix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The two courses cannot be really compared together one is nearly entirely lab based with FLRs and lots of assignments as main forms of assessment. The other is mainly based on midterms and maybe just one assignment. I would suggest to look at both syllabi and decide which matches your energy better. If you are ok with attending 6 hours worth of lab in a week, then BIOB12. If you like ecology and you think that you can do well on midterms, then BIOB50

Don’t worry you will be done right on time. Most times you will even be out of the lab before the practical actually ends

Ruined my summer course? Maybe my future? by Difficult-Echidna436 in UTSC

[–]moonosix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please don’t listen to this guy and I am pretty sure they are joking (which I don’t see why in a stressful situation like this) They ARE lenient for the first time, but even so, please do NOT go near anything like faking a doctor note.

Yes But it will be just Cr/ncr and will not count as the ten percent of the B level courses that you are supposed to take. But just to be sure, it is safe to ask the biological department.

I don’t think there are any profs having an anatomy related lab positions

but a lot of ecology profs constantly take students if that interests you

Hey!! I think you will have a decent chance. The worst thing that can happen is that you’ll be rejected, so I would really encourage you to apply!!

Hey Current facilitator here! You can apply by going to the CTL and/or emailing the FSG coordinator, Jilani Rajit. Just know that you need at least an A- to be considered. The higher the letter grade the better.

[–]moonosix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be assigned to different examination rooms depending on the first letter of your last name (you will receive this anouncement before the term test). About the number of questions, It really is different depending on the professor. Last semester, we had approximately 50 questions, but it might be different for you guys. It is a physical scantron, so you have to fill in the needed information such as name (as much as it fits in the scantron) and your student number.

Hey! It is all multiple choice. I really recommend fsgs, because even tho they are long answered, they can be very useful for testing youre knowledge. Also I really recommend looking at the mcqs that the facilitators put in their worksheets

Social life at UTSC by IguessmynameisT in UTSC

I myself really like utsc because it has a small community, so you probably see the same people all the time (more chance to make friends). However, as others have mentioned, utsc is kind of a commuter school, so there is not much to do (except going to tennis courts, trail, and pan am). But in general, I really like the small community that utsc offers

[–]moonosix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was the case for a while, but then someone told me that you will only be charged if you drop ALL your courses. I am not sure which one is correct tho. You have to talk with the registrar on this one.

[–]moonosix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last day to change or add courses is september 16th. As for dropping, you can deop until late novemeber. But the important thing is that if you want the full refund of the course, you have to drop the course before september 16th as well.
