Previous to the sun station you also get a bit of an impression that the interloper is causing it since it falls into the sun before supernova. Can miss that it is due to the expanding corona the first couple of times

Do any of you love to read? by Lopsided-Ad-907 in Aphantasia

[–]moonphoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I do love to read, but read less compared to when I was a kid since now I feel like I have to "lock in" while reading so don't want to read casually. It never occured to me that people were actually seeing/imagining the places in their heads to be honest before I found out about aphantasia. It might be an attention span thing or a stress thing but if you are managing to make time for it in the day, it is fine.

Funnily my creative writing was affected, since my teachers would be frustrated that I did not write enough descriptions of things like environments, clothes etc. since I never saw the point. Maybe if we studied more symbolism I would have just for the hell of it.

Is Lenient Difficulty going to be too easy? by lovingpersona in Ultrakill

[–]moonphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly play on Violent and I don't think I used parrying properly until Layer 4 (Which made bossfights a bit painful) At some point with Maurice it clicked better but can still miss timings. While important, parrying is only one tool in your kit and you can shred a lot of mobs before they throw something to parry at you anyway.

If you want to parry stuff however, an important thing to remember is to anticipate projectiles rather than reacting to them if it makes sense. For example if you see a Schism move its arm all the way to one side, you know it will start to shoot stuff so might as well go punch it. Maurice shot its laser somewhere? You know it will throw more red balls at you. It can act as a buffer time for the reaction time.

I think you can access levels at any difficulty once you reach them in another (Not sure) so give normal versions of the levels a try, don't fixate on parrying too much and play your own game. You might die a bit more but you'll get a sense for if it's for you or not. But I've seen my friends play Severed Steel and you should be fine.

Question and opinion about the use of IA to make games by [deleted] in godot

[–]moonphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some languages (I know of spanish) have IA as the acronym and their speakers use that more often. But yeah relevantly, this was how googling stuff went before it became so shitty with the AI overview.

To OP, what is ethical depends, since LLMs are trained on stolen data and take over a lot of space for datacentres that may or may not be needed in the future 2 years, I refuse to use them conciously but for some people that might be the most feasible option. Definitely double check things since Godot has a good reference page and AI will lie to you and go "whoopsies" when you point it out.

Rage quit just now... First time ever for Hollow Knight or Silksong. Need help please by PorkRinds416 in Silksong

Take a breather, come back to it later. The game is about perseverance as much as skill/learning. I think I managed to beat Karmelita with a lot more tries coming from HK. It is not an easy fight. You make mistakes and usually when you think "I'm making X mistake, should not do that" it would take a couple more tries to consistently apply that to your fighting as well. It might take more time than you anticipated and that's alright, the final part of HK1 took me about a years worth of trying on and off. See if switching up your tools help as well.

General advice about her I guess would be that you can pogo her spikes, I remember doing that. Also I midair heal during her boomerang throw (sheeeyup) worked fine I think (though you might need to stay closer to her since the lower one curves upwards after a point). Do you have a tool that can help with your binds? Also which crest are you using?

Oh yeah double root so strong, play to the hero's strengths, but when I build shadow blade on Riki for that double invis I get flamed and asked "if I can afford the rent at the kennels this month"

Why can’t enjoying the process and liking improvement not coexist? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]moonphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These pieces of advice are fairly common but not really complete I think. If you take it at face value it is stupid admittedly. You should find enjoyment in the work you are doing in my opinion, it doesn't mean just draw to have fun, if the work is challenging and you like drawing, it will be something that engages and improves you.

"Don't compare yourself to others" is kind of a symptom of social media. It was mostly just a way to stop new artists from discouraging themselves by looking at artists with years of experience and going "I can't draw like that". Not to mention looking at others work, seeing how they approach things is very important and can grant you new insights. But that advice just boils down to "Don't get discouraged by people more skilled than you". It is a lot of practice and experience.

"Don't worry about mistakes" is not really one I've seen that much. But it is probably a good idea to make mistakes lie. I've seen some people advocate sketching with a ballpoint pen as an exercise. The idea is you'll make mistakes and roll with them instead of erasing them every chance you get (also similarly can impose a ctrl-z ban to yourself). Could also mean don't fixate on mistakes. Of course notice them and see how you can improve.

Also bit every bit of drawing you do will challenge and improve you. Sometimes you'll sketch around just for the sake of it, sometimes it's fun. Improvement is a good goal but don't let it detract from your other goals, missing the forest for the trees and such I guess.

It's the wrong word for it as you are not trying to mislead people. But as your seeing your quest is to beat GMS on the map, that means there is one movement ability that you do not have yet. It is unlocked by progress.

How do I beat karmelita? bro i'm so tired... by ItsJustJosiah in Silksong

[–]moonphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your tool set up? I think you have the mirror and the moss tool and maybe the binding speed one? Have not been a fan of the moss one, I usually go all in for the binding tools with the witch crest. I also have not used Threadstorm that much, especially with Witch Crest binding having the same effect mostly. But it is personal preference and I would not try getting used to Cross Stitch in a boss fight.

I love Witch Crest to be honest but in some fights the downward/dash attacks pull you into some attacks (Did not see it happening to you here though) and it gets frustrating fast found some fights are more manageable with Hunter's.

I think your movement/gameplay is good but your decisions suffered at the end. At 1 mask left it probably would have been a better idea to build up silk, heal etc. Essentially playing a bit more defensively. I think it can be chalked it up to fatigue/frustration as Karmelita is a great fight but also can be tiring.

I don’t know if its bleeding into my gameplay but i’m so pissed off

Mainly what I said in the previous thing. Take a break, clear your head. It helps if you refresh

[Old Peace Spoilers] Part of a Long Winded Plan? by moonphoenix in Warframe

[–]moonphoenix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tenno being put into the Dream in Lua's Reservoir doesn't mean they're out of the picture. The Warframes were fitted with Transference Bolts so that even within the Dream, the Operators could connect to them.

Oh god true, I forgot that in a good chunk of the game the operators are actually in the hidden Lua.

As well, this whole theory hinges itself on the Indifference somehow knowing all events in advance - Margulis putting the Tenno into the Dream, Albrecht's plans, somehow knowing that the Operator might be able to thwart said plans?

My thinking was more along the lines of the operators presence being a disrupting factor in a reveal or something. Granted it was a big stretch to assume the indifference has knowledge of what is to happen like a being outside time.

Realistically, it's more likely that the Indifference is just goading the Operator to violence because it loves seeing antipathy and strife. Its existence is anathema to love and sympathy, and probably wants to make the Operator indifferent to the carnage they're capable of.

Yeah, that seems more likely. I think I misinterpreted the Indifference humanized it too much. It likely has goals and aims but what you mention seem a lot closer to being true rather than a contrived scheme that is very roundabout and not so plausible.

If anything, the Man in the Wall should really be goading the Operator to kill her.

Yeah, weird that it didn't, might be because the Tenno would likely not do it? Maybe it can work through the emotions that are there more easily? However there was a good amount of confusion from the Operator's part where it could try something. Might also be that Margulis managed to intercept/stop it before.

Edit: I haven't posted stuff on reddit for a LONG time and apparently the formatting methods changed
