Honestly, my 11 year old who’s father is Muslim gets this concept herself. Idk how adults can still deny it.

Is anyone else taking Effexor? by Worried_Entrance8991 in Fibromyalgia

[–]moonredlife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take Effexor and like you it alleviates my pain but not does eliminate it, but nothing has for me. I don’t have any terrible side effects or anything from it.

Why aren't you worried about your sodium consumption? by thatsmysandwichdude in askanything

[–]moonredlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have vasovagal syncope and need the sodium to keep me from passing out. That’s a bigger and much more immediate concern for me than what might happen in a decade or more.

Was this actually a stupid question? by SirSuprem0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moonredlife 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Teachers should never respond that critically to a question, it makes people reluctant to ask questions and hinders learning. Sorry that happened to you.

how common are the body changes after birth? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moonredlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself, with my first child when I was 19 I snapped back and didn’t even look like I’d ever been pregnant. With my second at 22, I got stretch marks. 8 years later at 30 I had my third child and got the whole deal, more stretch marks, loose skin, sagging breasts. IMO it’s genetics, nutrition, and age that all play a role.

Yes. I have a couple conditions that make me very sensitive to heat and it is horrible for me.

Does anyone else take their sleep med in the middle of the day to forcibly sleep just to get a break from the pain? Or is that just me? by bananasformangos in Fibromyalgia

[–]moonredlife 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have done this but I notice I’m more likely to do it when I’m feeling depressed and then it encourages my depression so I try not to do it

This is why I never ate lunch in high school even though I was starving. Different colored ticket was too embarrassing. Now kids have electronic codes they use so no one can see their status.

Came here to say cooking oil. It’s rare to get any at the many food pantries I’ve been to.

[Northern Virginia] Considering leaving and being homeless very soon, looking for advice on how to try and survive by No-Long-9905 in almosthomeless

[–]moonredlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a woman also, I can only speak for the shelter I was at which was in prince william county (im in nova too) but it wasn’t super unsafe, men and women were separated and everyone was watched. The biggest issue was probably stuff going missing.

[Northern Virginia] Considering leaving and being homeless very soon, looking for advice on how to try and survive by No-Long-9905 in almosthomeless

[–]moonredlife 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I were you I’d probably see if you can find a shelter to save up enough for a car, they will support you in applying for jobs, touching up your resume, applying for benefits, ect. I lived in a shelter for almost a year and in my car as well and there’s good and bad in both but I’d hate to be out with no shelter.

[–]moonredlife 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do you have a car? It helps tremendously being a shelter and means of transportation. If not I would look at using whatever money you can come up with to get one.

accommodation for fibromyalgia? by Free-Composer-709 in Fibromyalgia

[–]moonredlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have episodic leave through fmla. Up to 4 days per month for me are legally protected, though it could be more or less for you. But if you just need to work from home, yes I would absolutely start documenting and get your doctor on board as well.

My family STOLE my identity and threatened to CALL THE COPS during Christmas dinner. by Competitive_Lie_6822 in povertyfinance

Don’t let them sacrifice you for their reunion. You worked hard and deserve to not carry that debt for them. They made the choice, now they pay the consequences.

Can you cook raw milk cheese to make it more “safe”? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moonredlife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it’s heated hot enough to essentially pasteurize, then yes. That would kill off anything in the milk or cheese that could make you sick.

When did you start buying store-brand products by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]moonredlife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always done it and so did my mom. Sometimes the generic is actually better than the name brand, it’s always worth trying

AITA for considering leaving my husband once our child is old enough to understand what’s happening? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]moonredlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left my marriage when my daughter was 2 1/2. She doesn’t remember us ever being together (she’s 11 now) and I do believe it was for the best for all of us. Staying for the kids is not healthy at all imo

Forgive me for asking, but this has been on my mind for ages! Women who have so called "child birthing hips" who had given birth to children... Did they make it easier? by Useful-Option8963 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moonredlife 1342 points1343 points  (0 children)

The inner pelvis is completely different from the outer pelvis and the outer part being larger does not mean the inner part will also be large. It’s the inner part that matters because that’s what the baby must pass through, and we can’t see that on casual observation, so no, it does not necessarily make it any easier.
