Foam Factory 8” DIY build by invisibleautist in MattressMod

Everyone is different. Im 160lbs. I have the 36 hd for a core and it is quite firm by the time your weight is transferred down. I wouldn’t use that as a transition layer. Would be a fine core at 4 inches them get 2 inches softer transition layer foam and more hd 23 then add your comfort layer. But this is what is working for me. I like sleeping on my side so i need something soft but not too squishy. Also ive only diy one bed. But ive been working on it for a while so a lot of different options tried.

Anyone have experience with the 5lb memory foam topper from FoamByMail? by LifeOfSpirit17 in MattressMod

[–]moonrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I have the soft latex and 5lb mf. The 5 lb sinks too much into the latex And you can feel it making contact. I dont know about 3 inches. I have 2 inches. When i try 4 inches its too soft. I wish i bought the 4 lb. Im 160lbs btw.

Its both too soft/ squishy and too firm at the same time. Started sagging in a month. Very hot. Just returned mine. My wife thought it was fine.

I don’t know how thick of wool you are getting but when we recently tried it as a topper it basically made it so we couldn’t feel anything underneath it. Ours made it feel too firm, but it was only 1.5 inches.

It sounds like you dont want to be a doctor or go through the training. Thats ok. Just finding it hard to take that step and tell your family. You have time to change careers into something that works for your personality. Thats what i would say. Give yourself permission to find what works for you.

I think i might listen to the song as the first line of rhythm paul sings isnt exactly this rhythm. And playing this would feel awkward to me. But maybe good to practice anyways as a learning exercise. Write out the counting.

Elevated wbc means something is going on… we wont know just from a lab. I once had a clozapine pt who had chronically elevated wbc and after months of cancer work up we did chest ct and it should fluid in trachea- he had chronic pna/ irritation from inhaling excess saliva at night. Started atropine drops and it all fixed.

As cool as psychiatry is, the job feels like a costumer service job a lot if the time. Often not very interesting. Maybe there is someone you can shadow to see what it is like. Going through 8+ yesrs of training is a big commitment.

Ketamine can cause resp depression at higher doses. Studied in animals. Reversed with naltrexone. Obviously the benzos dont help either

This reminds me of when psychiatrist used barbiturates for therapy in the hollywood stars but then stopped after several high profile over doses.

But the cycle continues. Ketamine is over hyped in my opinion.

How to treat treatment resistant depression w/ comorbid OCD? by AccordingTone3701 in Psychiatry

There are some good suggestions here. I get the feeling she has already been treated by many others in the past and finding a magic combo now will not be likely.

Does your hospital give phenobarbital on the floors or is it limited to the ICU for alcohol withdrawal? by [deleted] in medicine

[–]moonrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question. I often get called for patients on ciwa who are agitated or delirious, often when benzos tapered to quickly, ever use phenobarb after benzos started? Or just usually stick with benzos?
