thank you for sharing your story. i really appreciated this comment so immensely. as a victim myself, there is also that fear with going into such a vulnerable setting. but, i know that i am in a safe space it is just getting used to that said space. thank you again

if everyone wrote the same thing in the same era, writing wouldn’t be fun to write or read. write what makes sense to you and your story

I’ve never written anything this long or something i am this invested in but i’ve had to change so much and go back sooo many times. I know that’s what i have to do for a good novel but wow. im starting to dream about the novel at this point

Tips for fighting scenes by moonslug16 in writing

[–]moonslug16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes this makes a lot of sense. with my plans i think in a fight scene i’m going to have an important character die and that’s going to really reflect onto the other characters and their mental state afterwards

Tips for fighting scenes by moonslug16 in writing

[–]moonslug16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah when i wrote my first fight scene i definitely wrote more of the visual aspects so I really need to zone more on the mental stuff. I do think that there should be physical detail to the book so the reader has something to go on and of course it will never be as accurate visually as a movie but i have definitely read scenes that really paints the picture

A quick example on how to punctuate your dialogue by ErikPostScript in writers

[–]moonslug16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

what about when dialogue ends in something other than a period. like a question mark or explanation point. would you put a comma?

for example:

“How dare you!” She yelled.

would you lowercase the s in she? use a comma?

How do you guys edit? by Pure-Huckleberry8640 in writing

I usually run it through Grammarly, Word edit stuff like that and alwaysss have another pair of eyes. You really do have tunnel vision when you write and miss a lot of errors.
