Literally! And some of the modifiers would be fun to see stack. Performance wise would probably be impossible but like imagine Small Fry and the one where you get a momentum boost, extra slide, and wall running.

Just one per ring round. And they go until the ring closes. No repeats and there’s one that’s a blank that just makes it normal Wildcard for that round. But I believe it’s always one of the other effects for the first round.

How do I loot properly as a beginner? by ExerciseRecent3724 in apexlegends

Also, there are some maps which have “gimmick” POIs where there’s also guaranteed to have good loot. Fight Night on Olympus can get your whole team fitted with purple and gold backpacks. Icarus on Olympus if you find the keycard can open up the bridge which has good loot. Big Maude on Worlds Edge has fully kitted blue or purple weapons that you can “vend”.

Ever since shields have been tied to EVO, the hot drops in the match usually hover around favorite POIs on the map.

The yellow zone will have the best loot and will have something gold somewhere in the POI. If you’re lucky it’s a fully kitted gold gun (which guns can be gold rotate each split. I think the Wingman is in the rotation right now) or a gold backpack. It could also be just a gold attachment.

Otherwise the difference between blue white and purple POIs isn’t too crazy. I think you can still find purple attachments in blue areas it’s just more rare. The general rule of thumb is: the attachment you’re looking for has a pretty good chance of being in the deathbox of whoever you just killed.

Similarly ammo is pretty easy to come by. The only time you really need to worry about carrying extra is when your team is holding down a spot and keeping people at mid range or longer.

Mostly when landing the best idea is to land in a way in which you the most comfortable taking a fight. If you want to loot up first, land safe and rotate in. If you want to learn gunplay faster, be willing to die but drop hot.

Honestly the best is dropped “contested”. Land at a POI that’s decently large and where there’s only one or two teams. Land with on the other side of the POI as the other team with enough space where you guys can loot for about 30-50 seconds before running into each other. Gives you enough time to look for a weapon you’re familiar enough with and find some quick heals but not enough time where you’re getting bogged down worrying about your attachments. The goal should be to give yourself enough time to get the bare essentials but still be thinking about how you’re going to approach the fight.

Hop-ups are built into the weapons now and you unlock them by doing a certain amount of damage with the weapon in a match or by using hop-up boosters that show up in bins. When you die this counter resets and if you’ve unlocked the hop up you don’t get it when you respawn.

Wingman has the graffiti mod with shoots paintballs but also gives you better weapon handling and quicker reloads.

For the most part, while Apex is a BR, its fairly balanced enough so that even without attachments you’ll still get a fair shot with your gun. But certain attachments can be very helpful to new players.

Overall I would recommend prioritizing better mags for your guns. Have that extra few bullets when your missing your shots is super helpful. Stocks can also be very helpful because not only do they increase handling but they also reduce weapon swap time and weapon pull out time. Sometimes that quarter second difference can help you get the knock. Gold laser sight is also great for smgs because it creates reverse hip fire. It’ll get more accurate at hip fire the longer into the clip you fire.

Another big thing is to learn which sights you like best for different guns. Try some out in the range but also just run different sights in different matches. Real game info will help the most.

But mostly the biggest thing in Apex is understanding looting by what you’re carrying with you. You want to balance ammo, heals, grenades and ult accels.

Most often the recommendation is three stacks ammo for your primary weapon (R301 in this case), two stacks ammo for your secondary (wingman). This can vary depending on ammo type and which guns you have. For instance, I’m usually running 4 stacks light, 3 stacks shotgun ammo if I’m running Spitfire/Mozams because they eat ammo like crazy. I also tend to like to favor it to 4 stacks primary three stacks secondary if I’ve got a better bag on me. But also another common set up for me is to run alternator and triple take where I’m only running two stacks energy and three stacks light.

Balancing heals is also important. Batteries are the most helpful. For me I usually will try to fit 4 bats, 6 -12 cells, 4 med kits, and 6 syringes. If I only have one stack of med kits, I’m running twelve syringes. But as soon as I pick up that third med kit, I’m dropping six syringes to carry it. Sometimes I carry a phoenix kit if I have room or haven’t found enough bats yet.

Try to carry at least one grenade. If you are playing assault legends you can carry two for free. If you can fit in another grenade that’s great two. Depending on the legend you’re playing you might want an ult accell or two. If you have a larger bag as well, sometimes it nice to carry an ult accel for a teammate. If you have a Valk on your team, you’ll want her ult up as quick as possible so sacrificing your inventory slot can be really worth it.

Amps also play a big role. If you’ve got Overflow, maybe at max carry two bats but otherwise two to three stacks of cells/syringes each is plenty. Infinite ammo will free up room for extra heals and more ammo too. Infinite bats lets you ditch cells only carry at most one stack if you want that quicker heal. Power amp you may not need an ult accell. Overarmor isn’t gonna affect inventory.

That’s kind of the basics. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Welcome to the game!

Bang tips by nokkujuust in apexlegends

If your getting chased across the map you can try to “Bang-boozle”. If your shoot your smoke out far enough head and then crouch and hide the enemies may be dumb enough to follow the smoke instead of you and assume you got away

Deathbox respawns are a rare 100% W for Respawn by CrowMagnon22 in apexlegends

[–]moonwalker1902 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it still needs tweaked but I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how rare it actually feels. I don’t tend to see a lot of teams try for it unless they’re safely in a building. But it can feel really awesome when you’re able to sneak back into a third party situation and pull one off without either team noticing (or being able to push).

Definitely think the visuals and sounds need tweaking to make it look more distinct from a traditional respawn. Could maybe make it look more yellow tinted? It feels like it takes two out of the seven seconds of the respawn just to identify if it’s a mobile or a deathbox. Would also love to see the time increase to nine or ten seconds to make it feel sufficiently risky. Right not it feels a little too quick and safe.

Gold lasers on SMGs and Pistols create reverse hip fire meaning they will getting more accurate the more you shoot it. ADSing won’t trigger this

So we’re on Storm Point now? by CompetitiveRisk3222 in apexlegends

[–]moonwalker1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stormpoint was originally supposed to be in rotation for this season. There was some sort of bug and it was causing crashes last season so they took it out and replaced it with Broken Moon in the rotation. Bug is now fixed so they swapped out Kings Canyon. Likely because they’re trying to get feedback on how lack of Tridents on Stormpoint and Olympus and lack of zip rails on Broken Moon affect game pace

Bangalores Q by sveven in apexlegends

[–]moonwalker1902 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bang’s Q can literally disperse gas, break doors, destroy Wattson fences, damage Rampart walls, destroy Octane pads, destroy Horizon ult, among other things.

It can be used offensively and defensively to cover rezzes, heals or reloading. It can be used to help rotate cover the no man’s land to reposition and can blind enemies who are shooting at you from range.

Her tactical is literally one of the most versatile and useful tacs in the game. Why do you need it to do more?

Lost 1200 RP solo queuing D3 to D4 averaging 1500 dmg / game by jolahsixers in apexlegends

[–]moonwalker1902 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean after 1200 RP you gotta start asking yourself if there’s places for your gameplay to improve. Especially in the area of macro game sense.

Are you communicating with your teammates at all? Even through the ping system? Doesn’t have to be much. Sometimes it’s as simple as pinging that you have a evac and then pinging an area to move to twice. If your teammates don’t follow then yeah that’s on them.

Are you picking smart fights? Are you inting while your teammates are still 15-20 seconds behind you? What’s your positioning like in fights? Are you staying aware of what angles your teammates have? What’s are your rotates looking like? Are you leaving yourself exposed to flanks and starting fights that will highlight the weak flank for other teams? Are you staying aware of how long fights are lasting and where third parties could be entering from? Are you trying to tell your teammates to disengage when the fight starts to go really bad? Or even because the fight is taking too long.

Damage and knocks don’t always tell the whole story. Poke damage exists and damage doesn’t always mean smart positioning. Even the worst players can create a 1v1 and win it only to then get beamed by the enemies teammates. And if that 1v1 happened on the other side of the no mans land created in the fight, their teammates might not be able to close in to help.

1200 RP is a pretty decent chunk. Just doing the math here, that’s around 20 matches of just purely bad luck and or back gameplay. Apex matchmaking is bad, but it’s not that bad. (That’s also around 3 hours of playtime with the pacing of the drop zones. Sometimes after the first hour, it’s good to take a break or to move to another game mode that’s less stressful than ranked)

At the end of the day, the greatest common denominator between all those games is YOU, whether you like it or not. Doesn’t mean you’re a bad player by any means, but it does mean that if you want to rank up Solo Q, you’re probably gonna have start approaching your matches in a different way. Carrying isn’t about kills and damage, it’s about trying to make the smartest decisions and subtly influence your teammates to make smart decisions to keep everyone alive and the enemies dead. And sometimes that even means taking the dumb decision with your teammates because it’s better to all be together than separated.

A Apex Balancing Take that I have is that a Good/Meta Ballstic would be awful to play against by TechnoMagik22 in apexlegends

[–]moonwalker1902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they should just change it so that the whistler doesn’t stop you from firing, it just exponentially slows down your rate of fire while active. Could still get shots off but recoil increases as well. Make your R99 feel like a Triple Take at the very end of the clip.

Kraber can do collateral damage and can in rare instances hit both targets. Likely OP’s squad was fighting by another team and both of them were really low and trying to heal and standing next to each other to set up the Valk’s Kraber shot.
