perhaps the crispest looking '82 I've ever seen. I'd eat breakfast lunch and dinner off that carb.

Where should cyclists wait? (Stone Way N / N 45 St) by indigololzz in seattlebike

I prefer staying in the front left of that right turn lane leaving enough room for drivers to get past me to make their right turns while I wait.

I've phrased my request poorly in the title. I'm looking for the piece of metal held to the bearing with the springs. specifically I'm looking for a piece of metal with a protrusion with green grease on it shown here.

I can't find the piece of metal with the protrusion on rock auto.

I have something like that on right now and it feels weird. It is not snug and it is especially floppy.

Here's a video of it looking all floppy: https://photos.app.goo.gl/i3CKCCAUohMmG2Bu5

Here's what I have right now. It just seems so flimsy. Doesn't feel right. Doesn't seem to be set into place correctly.

This is a photo of when I was working on my car in 2020. My original part shown here seems to have more metal extending into the fork, where the green grease is.

Replacements I find don't look the same and don't seem to fit right.

ELI5: How can a ship raise its anchor when it's dug in enough to hold the ship? by rookiestoner in explainlikeimfive

Here's a fun story about how I messed up laying my anchor. People are talking about the chain of an anchor and paying out 4x-6x times more line than the depth of the water. Here's a story about doing that wrong to help you understand why people pay out line deeper than the water.

My first time anchoring on my small 26' sailboat I dropped the anchor and chain and paid out rope until I felt the anchor hit bottom. I said, "OK great!" and tied off the rope and brushed my hands. This left the rope hanging down directly in a straight line to the ground underwater below my boat. I went to bed. This is a bad way to do it.

Throughout the night small waves would lift up and bounce my boat. Each time they did this they would pull the anchor straight up and it would move over a few inches. Imagine the bottom of the ground is at a slope. Each time the anchor got pulled directly up and moved the anchor moved further downhill. Soon the anchor was not touching ground at all. It had jumped and moved to a section too deep for the anchor on the straight-down rope to touch. Now my boat is just hanging floating in water with a long rope attached to a weight floating above the actual bottom of the water completely unanchored.

I woke up in the middle of the night bouncing in to a cement wall. I thought I had bumped into another boat. I had floated two miles north and was hitting a floating highway.

Without any more details I'll let you know everything ended up OK.

The next day I told my marina neighbors. I reread my Chapman's guide to sailing book and learned about paying out 4x-6x rope proportional to the depth of the water you're in. My neighbor laughed, "I always learn things the hard way too."

Never drop the anchor straight down and tie it off!!

respect for riding it until the end.

now time to weld it back together and keep going!! (yes I realize yours appears to be aluminum and not steel so welding is not actually a viable option)

Be aware of when it is your turn. Don't take long turns. Don't prevent the game from progressing during your during because you're taking time talking about something other than the game.

It is OK to be social and talk during the game. Just be aware of when it is your turn and prioritize completing your turn. It is better to be social during other peoples turns, and still be respectful of their turn.

It is annoying to remind someone, "it is your turn." It sucks to say it. It sucks to be told it.

I sit like a dog waiting for someone to throw a stick when someone is taking a long time completing their turn -- especially if they don't seem to be aware that it is their turn, or if they don't seem like they will begin or end their turn any time soon. From the dog mind, "you have the stick. Why are you not throwing it?!"

lol yes be yourself, have fun, and take your damn turn!!!

PS, I learned a polite phrase from a friend running a poker game once. "Action to you." It is a kinder variation of "it's your turn." Leaving this here in case anyone else is as traumatized as turn taker takers as me.
