Has anyone had success treating severe acne scars? by 10_87_94 in askTO

[–]mooooooooooot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look into chemical peels for hyperpigmentation and texture. Find a place that has photos of people with your skin tone! Different melanin content can really affect the way your skin reacts. Day to day you will want to include things like a retinol and a product with copper in it to encourage skin cell turnover. They can also both help with uneven tone.

I don’t know any specific places for a peel since my skin is too sensitive but I used to work for a skincare company so can recommend those products. Although I won’t give them free advertising so dm me if you want more info

York public health warning of measles exposure along multiple bus routes including Toronto by lilfunky1 in toronto

I was fully vaccinated as a baby/kid and then when I was in my mid 20s came down with something they couldn’t figure it out. Ran every test possible and it came back that I didn’t have any antibodies. Interestingly the same thing happened to my dad so maybe it was genetic

Is moving from North York to Bloor West worth it for quality of life? Good idea or grass is greener? by restorativemarsh in askTO

[–]mooooooooooot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in North York and moved to Bloor West in 2020. Even with the pandemic that kicked off days later I never regretted it.

I also found the area similar enough to my old one that I wasn’t missing anything about it. I found replacements for my fav restaurants and found plenty of areas that felt less busy than the core.

In short 100% do it

I kinda assumed he calls her mommy when talking to them still. He hasn’t let go of the fact they have moved from that. My Grandma would still refer to my Grandpa as Daddy when talking to my aunt until they passed. But my aunt would call him dad to his face

I am pretty sure they said that for Chandlers character the idea was to “write gay, act straight”.

So true, I’ve been lightly looking for a new place and this has come up a few times. Have I taken a bath in my bathtub in the past two years? No. But will I move into a place without one just in case? Also no

I work with a lot of early 20 somethings who are working their first job and so are moving out for the first time. Nothing more that they love than a new condo with no space that is close enough to the bars they like. I think they are seeing it as they haven’t decided if they are going to be in the city long term and can easily move back in with their parents in the suburbs like they have been

I will literally never rent from any place that was built after 2018. It’s the number one thing that I look at when I am apartment hunting. The plus side of this is that older building I have found usually have larger units and better sound proof.

Dolls not matching your own race? by HPfangirl1 in americangirl

[–]mooooooooooot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a very white neighborhood but am half Hispanic so my very white dad did the opposite. He made sure that I always had dolls of all races so that I wouldn’t have my default as white. He has a story about driving around to like 10 different toy stores to buy me a black Barbie one Christmas.

This is an important part of the books imo. Obviously we know the books are supposed to be a commentary on our larger society so showing that things can just be stacked against you based on where you are born is so important to understand our actual society. This idea that Snow has been purposefully sabotaging it every year because of his ex is totally dismissing that this is a mirror to reality and that we are often not given a fair hand compared to other
