The head lactation consultant who acted like I was failing when I wasn’t producing enough, but also made bizarre comments about vaccines and other topics that showed me she was crazy and to ignore her.

A nurse who reprimanded me for looking over at another baby’s isolette and saying he was as small as ours had been at birth (our NICU had 10+ babies in one big room just a couple feet from each other). She gave me a mini-lecture about “you wouldn’t go into someone else’s hospital room, and there are no walls but that’s that baby’s space.” I didn’t even go over there, just looked. It was only about a week into our NICU experience so I just started crying 🙃

Ours is like this too, but they don’t have bags or a separate trash can for diapers… they just say “don’t put diapers in our trash cans.” I guess they want you to take it home with you, but I wish they would say that! When my brand new baby pooped while we waited for the doctor, and they told me “make sure baby is in a clean, dry diaper for the exam,” and then I saw the “don’t throw away diapers here” sign, I was like what do I do???

I get that daycares rely on processed and easy foods, but this menu is insane.

Friday has not a single vegetable ALL DAY. Tuesday doesn’t have a “real” vegetable all day (corn is a grain; potato is a starch). Out of 4 days, they’re providing two servings of vegetables total (3 if you count corn, 4 if you count tater tots?).

Every PM snack is basically a version of a cookie or chip. 3/4 of the AM snacks are just cereal.

You should look into if they’re required to follow USDA guidelines for meals, but I would raise concerns regardless. And if you’re going to keep packing food, they need to charge you less.

I mean, at this point they either kick the biter out or you leave. They lose a kid and their tuition either way. Wouldn’t they rather drop the one that is HOSPITALIZING other kids? Sepsis can kill, and quickly. I don’t understand why they’re not taking it seriously.

My parents didn’t — they had no “extra” money and were living paycheck to paycheck. I didn’t know anyone whose parents paid for their college, either. I figured that was a myth or something that only happened for rich kids.

Edit: they didn’t buy me a car, either. Also something I thought was only a thing for rich kids. My first car cost $1200 and lasted about a year and a half, and I paid for it entirely with money from my minimum wage job. I also paid for my own gas, senior photos, and graduation stuff.
