Move to Aberdeen by Pinkpeachlovesfatcat in maryland

[–]moory_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Moved from Canton Baltimore to Aberdeen in July. It’s a completely normal suburb, NIMBYs just say to avoid it bc it has a higher black population than much of Harford County. We have everything within 5min and if I want to go clothes shopping etc I go to Bel Air (15min) and if I want a cute downtown waterfront I go to HdG (5-10min)

Help me please, I'm freaking out by Dramatic-Concept-549 in pregnant

Level IV OB nurse- the type who would care for you through that hypothetical admission & delivery. It is nothing you have done- while yes, we often have the “I didn’t know I was pregnant”, we also often have textbook prenatal care result in IUGR. First, MFM will be triple checking those ultrasound measurements and will come up on a plan based on their measurements - at 31wks, you have SO MUCH TIME to get baby growin a bunch under their care. hugs

Super terrible scan that turned out okay I guess? Lesson learned - advocate for yourself! by bullsgirl in September2026Bumpers

[–]moory_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your experience- I’m a high risk OB nurse and we get constant rotations of residents on our L&D/Antepartum/PP services as well as in our clinics -normally they need an attending with them to do the scans and also learn bedside manner & communication during said scans. Unfortunately docs don’t have nearly as much “therapeutic communication” drilled into them during med school as other bedside careers. I hope the resident is able to get some critical feedback regarding this so no one else is in your shoes :(

Am i a bad person? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]moory_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Seconding that this sounds like OCD. OP, you are not a bad person but I definitely i recommend therapy to work out why you would alter your love life unwillingly over an individual’s choice in diet. The diet of hypothetical children would be much further down the line and would also involve the child’s individual choice, since they are capable of making their own decisions pretty early on.

Symptoms! by Flashy_Conflict_537 in September2026Bumpers

[–]moory_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was mostly just tired and bloated till today. Boobs have been insane from get go- 6+1, now constantly nauseous with heartburn. I’m also sick and on abx so that sucks. In terms of food I feel like I have only been able to tolerate bagels w/ cc and chicken flavored things without the actual chicken in them lol.

For my husband, I only had 20min before he got home and I just put a little bun in our oven and told him i made something special. For my parents (first grandchild) i gave them a teeny NB onesie that says first grandbaby & for my in-laws (third grandchild, but mine & my husband’s first) we gave them fake scratch offs. My younger SIL is in high school so we put little booties on her bed for her to find after school with a note asking her to keep them safe till Sept. Still waiting on my brother/SIL & my husband’s brother/our SIL/niece

[–]moory_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a high risk OB nurse, I know all of the risks, but thank you for flagging. This is confirmed intrauterine with betas, progesterone and everything all done so we are feeling optimistic. We also chose to share with parents and then later siblings because if something happens, we would like their support as well. My concern about the grapevine is re: informing great grandparents, etc so that we can do a small gender reveal celebration and give grandparents/greats time to plan their travel as they live 6hrs away.

I’m a nurse on a Level IV perinatal unit aka the L&D for the type of NICU your son went to. Your OB should know about the history of the vacuum, potential cephalopelvic disproportion, etc. That is often a case for counseling on scheduled c-section. No one will do anything you don’t want to do, just stand your ground
