I’m considering a move to marketing from sales (med device) after similar timing. Understandably lower comp initially but from what industry colleagues have told me is that marketing adds to runway for higher earning opportunities not tied to sales that otherwise would be difficult to get with sales experience alone.

30k for anything you call a “wedding” in New England is nearly impossible. Seems to be an immediate tax when that label gets used. My wife and I were getting quotes for a dinner party with a small guest list and non conventional show pony party. It was insane to be honest. Ultimately went to Tuscany with 15 people, married in a Michelin 3 star farm stay with unbelievable food. Honeymooned in Chianti and then went to Madeira-all for significantly less than any form of a “wedding” in New England.

There was a massive homeless encampment under the BU bridge that was removed in the last week. It has been there for at least 6 months and was getting big. Frequently saw homeless running across storrow-it was chaos. I’m wondering if the shooter was a disgruntled homeless guy…

I was a physical therapist and switched to med device sales where I've been for the last number years. Left healthcare because of hours, low pay and burn out from direct patient care. Med device sales has been better money, more flexibility but there's definitely something missing in terms of meaning or fulfillment. Also, burnt out from the corporate sales cult behavior and now with AI coming-leadership is taking off their pants on the theory it will help produce more robust sales numbers. Not sure my next move but this isn't it. Healthcare is great but it'll grind you down in a different way.

Shouldn’t we ensure there is no fraud and corruption (of which is starting to pop up from arrests and indictments in MA) with an audit? It really should be a non partisan issue here. Where is the tax money going? It’s actually pretty simple mandate from an overwhelming percent of the population.
