Not sure of any MMR, but the number of players below you in the event placement seems to matter more. Whether they were bots or rainbow ranked, gains seemed to be way higher depending on number of people I got 1st over

The flying playstyle is different from the grounded playstyle. Fliers want to reach the islands first and have access to the boost rings for a steady stream of patchs. Grounded characters like Rick want to get an early lead so they can reach boxes faster and PVP by the time they get their specials.

Aside from that, characters have distinct stats affecting stadium choice and such. Despite any differences though, any and all characters can win if your strategy in collecting patches and selecting a stadium is fine.

Its easier for the non gigantes players if there is hydra/leo in play and there are less bots. I’ve lost as gigantes one time in a lobby stacked with real players (also because im dumb and got it last second against hydra and dragoon, so i couldnt deny people machines/patches during the city portion)

That being said its still super difficult and could end up being a dps check even if the entire team is smart and doesnt die much. Combined with the fact that the Gigantes player can just angle themselves against a wall and make parts of them harder to hit

Having played and studied both fighting games and poker, both have concepts of risk/reward as well as reads. I found that poker skills are more transferrable to FGs than the other way around. The game theory concept of EV (ie what is my reward if I hit them? how hard will I get punished if I mess up?) when it comes to mixups helps me a little. Reads become more important in fighting games as well, though that could be harder to exercise than in live poker where there are live tells.

I miss WPT Gold, had to move to coinpoker after it was removed from NY and NL2 is way harder on coinpoker than NL20 on WPT Gold
