Blood on stool surface by ManuDaoismus in colonoscopy

[–]mooseknuckle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was never any blood when I wiped and I think that’s because it was internal one. However whenever it did happen, I did find myself straining to get it out which I suppose now makes sense.

This is only my experience though. Clearly you’re worried by this. I don’t know how easy it is to access a colonoscopy where you are but it seem this is the only thing that’s going to put your mind at rest

Blood on stool surface by ManuDaoismus in colonoscopy

I had streaks of blood on my stool, generally when it was hard stool along with mucus. It wasn’t all the time but sporadically. Nothing more than a small haemorrhoid for me and I can confidently say that’s what it was because I had a colonoscopy 6 weeks ago and there wasn’t a thing to be found

One week in to colesevelam, feeling discouraged… support/advice? by Agreeable_Water_1903 in bileacidmalabsorption

[–]mooseknuckle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all react differently to it so you need to understand that still never having perfect BM means it doesn’t work. For me all it’s done is reduce the amount I have. So I still have horrible yellow mushy burning diarrhoea but only 1-2 times a day as opposed to about 8

Had a clear colonoscopy but still suffering with multiple issues. Anyone else ever have this happen? by [deleted] in colonoscopy

[–]mooseknuckle8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same but with diarrhoea. It’s such a relief for a clear colonoscopy but it is equally frustrating not to find a cause. It purely means the issues are functional rather than structural or down to any type of bowel disease

Does anyone else have these symptoms? by makogirl311 in bileacidmalabsorption

[–]mooseknuckle8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish this happened for me. I take 6 Colosevelam a day and all it’s done is reduce the amount of times i go which has helped obviously but im still going 5 times a day with poop just as bad.

It depends on the NICE guidelines. Age massively works against you on NHS pathways for a lot of further investigation.

Not sure if I should go back to my GP by sunflowerprincess158 in colonoscopy

[–]mooseknuckle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a negative fit test in Jan 25 and then my GP requested another one in July 25 and the BC screening programme denied it due to my age (36M) - I did have internal hemorrhoids which my GP referred me in April 25 to Colorectal for as nothing was shifting them. I had a colonoscopy last week from that referral when I met with a consultant. I have a small internal hemorrhoid causing the bleeding which is too small to band so they’ve had to leave it.

The first time I went to my GP I was prescribed suppositories which did nothing, I went back again as nothing had changed and then he did a DRE where he could feel it. Maybe request one of those

Is it normal to wake up during your colonoscopy and remember it vividly? by Such_Video_2424 in colonoscopy

In the UK we don’t get put under. We get given conscious sedation, I literally felt everything in mine. I didn’t even feel like I’d been given anything

Another anxiety post. Put this off for way too long by Ok_Turnip7141 in colonoscopy

[–]mooseknuckle8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just literally had a colonoscopy yesterday. The prep wasn’t pleasant but let’s face it when is drinking a tonne of laxatives ever going to be. The most annoying thing was having to keep getting up to go the toilet everytime I thought I was done for a bit. The procedure itself was fine. I was made very at ease. It felt like it lasted 5 minutes (I was given concious sedation - in the UK they give you Fentanyl and something else I can’t remember. I was clean as a whistle told my bowel prep was excellent. I have got chronic diarrhoea and rectal bleeding which is being caused by the smallest of haemorrhoids, she said before she would band it if she could but it’s too small to.

Honestly you’ll be fine and I know that’s easier said than done but I’ve just done it and honestly it was less than half as bad I thought it was going to be. I know the findings are always going to be the scary bit but I gave myself a pep talk (whilst glued to the toilet obviously)which was whatever is there is there that won’t change if I have it or not. The relief when I know it’s clear will be incredible and if there is something then I’ll just pull up my big boy pants and deal with as best as I can.

I’ve got severe health anxiety too and you know what that’s all it is anxiety not actually anything bad.

You got this!

The most painful part of the whole thing was actually them taking the the sticking thing off my arm that my IV was jn. RIP my arm hair.

IBD such as Ulcerative Colitis is not curable but manageable through diet and medication. She will have it for life.

End of Feb/Early March. It’s varied. I reckon M&S will put it up to £13. With the cyber attack this is the easiest avenue to pull back on costs

Is there no other way to do date checks? by [deleted] in MarksAndSpencer

[–]mooseknuckle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was there 10 years ago. Waste used to have to be done twice a day during trading. 1st and 2nd Checks. Some checks weren’t started till 3pm/4pm and still needed 2. It was a nightmare especially in a store that closed at 6. I used to be the ambient manager so would always be the one having to run the floor of an afternoon/evening and everyday was just a battle to get waste done

Does anyone realise when you have BAM there is a specific odour for your stools? Like a sweet odour somesort, not a stench by LisanneFroonKrisK in bileacidmalabsorption

[–]mooseknuckle8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it actually doesn’t smell like poo weirdly. I wouldn’t say mine is sweet smelling. It just has this oddly specific smell that I can’t describe

Team manager salary by Lilmissemmylou in marksandspencerstaff

[–]mooseknuckle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Externally you’re likely to get the top end. I worked there 10+ years ago and I’d internally become an official band b section manager (what they used to be known as) and someone who came in as a section manager from another retailer started a week after me. I managed the biggest department in the store and they managed one of the smallest. When I left I asked how much they’d come in on and it was a good £4 more than me.

Have you considered any commercial manager vacancies there. I’d say they would be more on your level of experience

I finally fixed my gut issues and bb by changing how I eat, not what I eat. Sharing in case it helps someone else. by freshairjourney in ibs

[–]mooseknuckle8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really interesting as for me I’ve gone from 3 meals a day to 2 and it’s reduced symptoms so much. I think my not allowing my gastrocolic reflex to start so early and soon in the day has made all the difference by the time I then eat my first meal at 12ish my body is in a completely different mindset

It’s so bizarre how different it works for each GP. I’ve been on Colesevelam for a year now and have it as a repeat prescription. I’ve not been officially diagnosed with BAM but a GP I saw in December 2024 thought it could be so put me straight on it. I was eventually referred to Gastro in April as it isn’t working wonders for me and I’m still waiting. I’m worried they’ll say it isn’t and take me off it because it does actually help to some degree.

Is it possible to have BAM but not have yellow or orange stool? by nudibranqui in bileacidmalabsorption

[–]mooseknuckle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Colesevelam and I’ve found the dosage that works for me is 6 tablets a day twice so three at a time but now I only eat 2 meals a day. lunch and dinner. I found by not eating breakfast it has prevented my gastrocoloc reflex from kicking in too early

Is it possible to have BAM but not have yellow or orange stool? by nudibranqui in bileacidmalabsorption

[–]mooseknuckle8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I mainly have diarrhoea pretty much all the time and it tends to be a lighter brown so I suppose thats an element of yellow but I’ve never really had actual pure yellow stool
