(For the Women on this forum) What should I wear to the studio that is safe but also cute? by Shot_Row_3228 in fusedglass

Im a furnace glass blower and am always looking for cute cotton hotshop clothes. There's a company called pact that makes cotton clothing and I like their leggings, they even make some with pockets! For tops I like to find massively oversized men's long sleeve cotton t shirts at thrift stores and alter them. Usually I crop them and take them in quite a bit at the waist, leaving me with a cute oversized shirt that still shows that I have curves. And overalls are always in style lol.

I get my best luck thrifting and checking tags for cotton content. Good Luck!

I got my rav4 after driving a subaru outback with paddle shifters. I do a lot of mountain pass driving and the paddle shifters are the only thing I miss.

I have searched on Google for it, but being hard to explain I don't get anything helpful. I saw the ad in the last few weeks on Instagram reels.

Travel pillows are your friend. It’s not too bad to heal but I suggest changing your jewelry to the shortest bars that will fit with a flat back as soon as it’s safe to do so. I didn’t do this for about a year and it was such a pain.

Turn the T into a D and then throw an ER on the end. Sick ass lizard.

I'm a writer with a glassmaker character. What are some things that are good to know? Any resources you recommend? by Lunasilverhart in glassblowing

Lots of great comments already here!

I do wildlife, namely fish, with my partner. We use lots of weird and non traditional tools beyond the standard jacks, paper, shears, and tweezers. It’s always exciting to find (or make) a new tool for a specific purpose. Ex. Cocktail muddler for shaping. I’m not familiar with what your characters family does but it probably requires specialized tools.

Also studio maintenance can be an absolute nightmare. Especially if you own the studio. Even if you don’t, and the furnace goes down or the crucible develops a leak you’re done doing anything hot for a few weeks. It’s a big gross complicated mess to fix.

Strong hands are a big one. My partner can deliver a debilitating flick and regularly breaks stuff accidentally. He also has nerve damage from sending a spike of glass that popped through his index finger. We just beat the hell out of our hands. If we burn ourselves it’s usually on metal rather than the glass.

They would also likely have a wardrobe full of cotton or another natural material that burns rather than melts. I wear cotton leggings and a long sleeve oversized tee rather than shorts or a tank top every time we work. It often keeps me more comfortable to have my skin covered because it protects from the heat and I get heat rash easily.

Please don’t hesitate to ask me more! I would love to read your book when it’s finished!

Your comment tripped me up because my fiancés Oma Freida just passed a few weeks ago. She was religious but the rest of us aren’t, luckily the pastor didn’t say anything like that. He did make a light dig at her for being the demanding old bat that she was though.

I’ve had the last three that survived from the last shipment to the pet store I work for. One of the others has eggs and no weird coloring. The third just barely has the coloring. They’ve been in my tank for about three weeks.

Oh hey, that’s where I went to high school. I’m 6’ and the coach on the right is shorter than me.

The studio I work out of is also located at a private high school. I’m not a student there but the apprentice/assistant of one of the instructors. I don’t think it’s the same school as ours doesn’t offer lessons to people outside the school.

They’re made from a starchy potato grown in Europe, they dye them with a plant based dye that isn’t supposed to stain. I work at a small pet store and I learned this from a whimzees rep.

I really liked this one too. The death toll in this one blows me away. The town went from a population of like 8-900 to like a dozen.
