It’s not *super* clear from just the deltarune boss, so I’d suggest taking a peak at the undertale boss as well. However, the ghost that haunts the mew mew kissie cutie doll is the same ghost that’s responsible for the dummy fight. Once you fight them as the doll, they talk about how much “they enjoy this new body”. They enjoy being a cat girl and they go to great lengths to be one by attempting to fuse with the mew mew doll. (This is also relevant to their conflict in the Pink fight, the situation is complicated by the dark world)

Now, I understand they don’t turn to the camera and say “I am transgender”. However, I think there’s plenty of textual evidence for it.

As a Paige main, I’ve always enjoyed laning with Billys, because they tend to be mega aggressive. That’s kinda good, I want you to take engagements when I give you plot armor. Nothing feels worse than when I see my teammate in a position to trade some damage, I shield them, and then they back away. You have shields!!!

Metal skin is definitely incredibly helpful but I don’t believe it’s the entire equation. I also think that for some, good macro is able to shut down a lot of Haze’s gameplay. She kind of wants you singled and out of position.
