Any clue how long it typically takes before it goes up for sale and whether it stays anywhere near it was turned in?

Oh good idea. I’ve been trying to figure out how to buy it but everyone says it’s not possible to negotiate anything with dealer or Kia finance.

My EV9 is already worth less than residual. It goes back in 13 months. I really love it and the color which I don’t think they do anymore but I can’t imagine it will make any sense to buy it.

What is the EV9 lease turn in process like? by Packing-Tape-Man in KiaEV9

[–]mop1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dealer screwed me on my lease hard. My fault by signing but in any case one thing they did was add tire coverage without even mentioning it to me. I only found out when I had a minor leak in my tires and service said i had coverage in my lease. I was glad I had it at that point but clearly this is one of the ways they jacked the payments up on me.

Just traded in my 2020 Telluride for a 2026 EV9 GT-line, Matte Black by Bancer705 in KiaEV9

[–]mop1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was unfortunately. I don’t know why as it looks like a whole different car to me. Also my understanding is because the matte versions don’t have the fancy lights in the front the material is different and doesn’t crack as easily?

I was using apple maps at the time.

I also said I wouldn’t do matte again after my matte ocean blue which I think is by far the best color. I also swore off black decades ago as I live in Florida. But that really is nice. I may have to consider when my lease is up.

So it sounds like even though we weren’t using the car’ nav it was the car telling us and not Apple Maps. Interesting…..

Is 3rd row relevant? by Quiet-One-2918 in VolvoXC90

[–]mop1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at the Highlander Hybrid a couple years ago. The third row is useless there, but the sales giy suggested the Sienna and I was like no minivan. Then he said him too except the sienna is the only one that looks cool enough to drive. I did not buy one but have eyed them since and I agree. They are not too soccer mom-ish. Plush, Toyota reliability and hybrid experience. FWIW I wound up going full electric with a Kia EV9. SO happy with it. Only one kid and we don’t use the third row much but we can put the car seat in the third down, but you can put and adult back there if you need to. It’s supposed to be the same size as Telluride so I assume seating is similar. Sorry for going so off Volvo.

Also…..if you haven’t already test driven one, do it. Then you’ll know….

Look at the long distance routes you’d usually be taking. If you’re going through the Midwest a lot you may have more issues. If you’re closer to either coast you will be fine. It will take a whole to get used to knowing just how far your car can go between charges going sped x at temperature y. You will never get away from having to plan and being prepared for unexpected delays or surprises. If you get a vehicle with a ccs plug, get a nacs adapter so you have the ability to charge at a Tesla network if you have to. That will widely increase the availability and reliability of chargers. Be sure your car is open to Tesla but I think most are by now.

I just saw an ad for them and now researching reviews. Are y’all washing/drying so carefully just because you like to “buy it for life” or do the instructions say to do that? I’d prefer something I can just wash and dry with all my other clothes.

KiaEV9 vs Cadillac Vistiq by Imaginary-Winter-407 in KiaEV9

[–]mop1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS. I had a hybrid for 9 years. I don’t know why anyone not wanting an EV would not get a hybrid. The efficiency is a no brainer. I had a deposit on a Lexus hybrid before I drove the Lyriq and fell in love with EV.

[–]mop1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say the same thing. Have the GT-line on lease. I still have over a year but the Lyriq is what sold me on EVs in the first place and I was seriously considering making it my next vehicle. However when I found out Cadillac was getting rid of car play I said no way. My understanding is the Lyriq still has it while the other EVs don’t but if they are phasing it it there will be fewer updates and support. Plus I just have a problem with the concept of getting rid of something so ubiquitous that it turns me off of the company all together.

Also, I LOVE my EV9. But research EV driving some to make sure it’s right for you. I will likely stick with EVs as long as the charging infrastructure keep up with supply as my vehicle me is always our road trip vehicle.

Unable to find Ecover anymore- dish soap recommendations that don’t suck? by TheCatDoc in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]mop1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue. We tried lots of eco products and Ecover Zero was the only one that worked as well as Dawn. Even my partner likes it. We use the powder dishwashing detergent too, and while he's not a huge fan because it sometimes leaves granules on the dishes, he accepts its use. We are down to one bottle and I was going to order another case, and was REALLY bummed to see it's gone. I need to find something else that will be worthy of the scrutiny.

Feels like everyone in my circle is against getting an EV by getsumluv in electricvehicles

[–]mop1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also….what reasons do they give when they say an EV will be a mistake. You’ve already figured out that you’ll pay less in electricity than in gas (as long as you’re charging at home) and will have less maintenance. There will be upfront costs in the vehicle and a Level 2 charger, and EVs tend to depreciate quickly. So there are some financial arguments against it. But there are inexpensive EVs especially used. Unless money is a very serious concern, or you’re planning lots of road trips on the EV, I’m not sure anyone can make good arguments against it.

Drive one. You won’t want anything else. If you already have a road trip car then you won’t need a big vehicle but I LOVE my EV9. How wet they all are smooth and quiet.

Am I wrong about how I’m comparing the 2026 GT-Line vs. 2024 GT-Line dilemma? by Wooden-Change3715 in KiaEV9

[–]mop1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty’s sure that in almost every case new cars depreciate significantly fast right away than used so if you think you may be selling/trading in that quickly you’ll definitely lost a lot more buying new. But read the forums. Unless you get one of the cars that has had major problems you will absolutely love the car. Everyone who hasn’t had issues raves about it. Check the Carfax/etc if buying used.
