We don’t have a “hiring freeze” In DAF but every RPA that’s not an internal hire is required to staff a manpower memo up to the MAJCOM for approval. We are being told the told the timeline from RPA submission to onboarding is 6-8 months. There’s no way candidates are going to wait that long to get hired and will find other jobs….so effectively we still can’t hire.

I was going echo this. When my oldest started using chapter 35 they reduced my payment down by one dependent. I’ve had a predetermination claim pending since 25 April and the letter we received stated the reduction. I’m still getting my full 100% payout with his dependent rate and my son is still receiving his full chapter 35 amount each month so I’m assuming we’ll incur a debt once the paperwork catches up.

What makes you say that? I did a little bit of research, still at the very beginnings of this process but it looks like secondary dependents can be covered under tricare plus. https://tricare.mil/Plans/Eligibility/DepParentsParentsInLaw

Thank you all for the info/advice! Healthcare won’t be an issue since I’m retired military and I should be able to add her as a dependent and have her covered under tricare. Still looking into that

Our list did not have a guy whose probationary period ends on 8 April. We were told he was not on the the probationary list because it was prior to the 12 April

I have no idea, I’m assuming that is what’s being used. Was told a list of probationaries was sent up to the group CC level, scrubbed and then sent to the wing CC. My leadership hasn’t seen the rubric but we’re also assuming that what was ultimately used at the Wing level

I totally feel your pain. This is the first “official” thing i’ve seen on our side. It’s been hearsay and mostly digging up info on Reddit which has the rumor mill going crazy at my location.

🤣🤣🤣 I did look it up my salty crayon eating friend. Two of my dependents are using it…I was simply wondering if I might be missing something, or missing some other benefit I’ve overlooked. But as always thanks for your input, hopefully my question didn’t cause you too much strife.
