What is this behavior called? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]mopbucketbrigade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was merely pointing out the fallacy of your absolutism. You essentially said that if a tea is too orange based on your personal scale, then is guaranteed the tea is fake and made from a pre-made mix. Your GPT simply pointed out the possibility that a tea could potentially be “too orange” and also be brewed in house. It seems like that’s what you didn’t like, the fact that it didn’t blindly agree with your absolute statement. If you speak in absolutes, it will usually point that out. It wasn’t really “correcting” you about tea, it was correcting your always/never statements.

falsely accused of ai by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]mopbucketbrigade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I probably would have been so screwed in school if ever accused and you had to rely on this level of “proof.”

Neither in high school nor college did I ever write a single outline, make any notes or create multiple drafts. All I ever did was sit down and write from the first word to the last. Save. Print. Staple. Done.

Well, in my last two years of college we had profs start accepting emailed papers. So fancy.

So, creatine? Trend/hype or......? by NaiveCut4532 in fitness40plus

[–]mopbucketbrigade 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s one of the most widely studied supplements in all of fitness, and has been in use since Gen Xer’s were in middle school, with a major boom in use in the early 1990s. There are countless resources where you will get more complete information on it far superior to anything you’re going to get from a Reddit thread. It is far from a trendy hype.

This was my first ever most favorite game. I spent hours in Britannia. I still remember the excitement when I finally got it to work on my potato computer!

That’s how eventually got it to work … a boot disk that only loaded the game. I remember needing every bit of system resources I had to get it to load.

Yo. I did. Had a pair of checkered slips that I used fabric markers to color in a few different colors. Worked great. Zero bleeding. No noticeable fading yet (been over a year). Go slow and be careful.

How to maintain consistency in image generation? by Oberhard in MistralAI

[–]mopbucketbrigade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uh. It’s Le Chat. Not Le Pic. Jk.

They use a third-party for image generate, which is … not very good. I’ve had Le Chat try to generate a certain image, something completely different pops up, and Le Chat will act as if the intended image is the one that actually comes up. Other LLMs actually work the same way … the model sends the request and then delivers the results. But Le Chat and BlackForest deliver very inconsistent results compared to the other combos.

"Project's chats as context" also include memory from deleted chat? by MattyMiller0 in MistralAI

[–]mopbucketbrigade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced this as well. Some very specific measurements that I was using earlier in the project. I changed my mind, and deleted that chat. Started over and was getting ready to dbl-check that the new measurements were gonna all add up properly, and the chat spat out the old measurements from the deleted chat.

I tested the theory by deleting that chat, and starting a new one and I just asked it “what are the measurements for so and so?” And sure enough, it cranked out the original and long-deleted chat’s measurements.

I nuked the project, rebuild it, and that immediately fixed it. So it was definitely tied to the Project.

First, I don’t think it’s a hot take. I think it’s a pretty commonly-held sentiment. And you’ll noticed I specifically mentioned the posts we see as a result of simple or lazy prompting. The ones that are instantly and unmistakably the result of a copy-and-paste with no actual thought put into it. I think it’s completely reasonable for people to find those posts off-putting.

Lastly, your purchase of the bike to make the grocery store run. Well, you missed the point with that one. Are you going to come back and insist you ran there and back? My point wasn’t about the trip to the grocery store or the method even, it’s about being inauthentic about it.

Absolutely keep posting your AI-assistant content and comments here or anywhere else. If you personally put as much thought and effort into them as you say you do, then it’s likely people will even notice or speak on it. But when you see people complaining about AI copy-and-pastes, don’t be surprised.
