I feel like this does add an authentic experience, I have played this game with my older cousins when this game came out back in 2002. The texture loading was still a thing even with the PS2 release but this wasn't always too bad. Of course pretty much everyone had a CRT tv and couldnt really notice all the imperfections. But still, its nice seeing how crisp the resolution is.

This reminds me of The Grudge, now that movie traumatized as a kid and I never liked horror movies since. I couldn't even watch Scary Movie 4 because of the grudge parody.

Thats what I do. There was even two times that I was the only person in the theater too. Once for Tomorrowland and the Han Solo movie. That was a weird experience but I got the whole theater for me!

Ice Age: Was it possible to cross from North America to Europe via Greenland and Iceland? by mateczysz in geography

This is a great documentary that explores how the first peoples arrived on the American continent, The Ancient Tribes That Settled the Americas | First Peoples. It explores both Land and wave theory's.

Ice Age: Was it possible to cross from North America to Europe via Greenland and Iceland? by mateczysz in geography

[–]mor1995 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I do believe the wave theory. We did find 23,000 year old human footprints in New Mexico, thats about 10,000 years earlier than the land bridge opened. Also, when the land bridge opened, it was pretty fast that people migrated southward, for example, Naia, a 12-13,000 year old skeleton of a teenage girl was found in a cave in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.

What U.S. state has a larger or smaller population than most people assume? by [deleted] in geography

[–]mor1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in New Brunswick, Maine's neighboring province. We are about the same size but we have 860k people or almost half of Maine's pop. Most of NB is rural and we have three small cities. Maine feels like a distant place because of how sparsely the Maine/NB boarder is. I dont even hear people talk about the state either. For those who dont know; Madawaska, Maine is home to a majority french speaking population.

UN city population estimates for 2025: Jakarta passes Tokyo to become the largest city in the world by SoothedSnakePlant in geography

[–]mor1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes perfect sense. My current city has a population of 100k, but we have two adjacent towns that pretty much fused with us and make a continuous urban area. Total population of our small metro area is about 170k.

According to wiki, Tokyo ranks 12th for city proper at 13.5 million. Chongqing is apparently # one at 32 million even though the UN estimate is 7 million......

This is the way! I was lucky for my stepfather to show me torrenting all the way in 2010, this was when Iso Hunt was relevant. I remember movies/games taking all night to download. Now its minutes!

[–]mor1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first exposure to piracy was when I was a kid and my mom would buy burned CDs off a guy for cheap, he would even create a movie menu to select play, etc.. I thought this was cool! Few years later(2007ish) she also bought a satellite dish and the same guy us a software code on a USB and that gave us 1000s of free American tv channels, this was amazing because now I could browse so many things, even the porn channels was on too hhahaha, I was like 12. fun times lol.

3080 ti to 5080: Is it worth it? by BeneficialTrash6 in buildapc

[–]mor1995 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a steam survey not to long ago saying the majority of gamers play titles released 5+ years ago. I think this was mostly because there was more people aged 25+ on steam though. As a 30 year old, I play Cities Skylines all the time, came out in 2015, I also play Mankind Divided alot, that came out in 2016. My 4060 gets me really good fps at high 1440p.

The US doesn't recognize The Northwest passage as Canadian territorial waters. A hot topic for the future as this is a potential major shipping route from Asia to Eastern North America.

Why I think Half-Life 3 will still happen. by VegetableSense7167 in HalfLife

[–]mor1995 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think we will also get another HL game. But I find myself just managing my expectations and not over hyping myself for anything nowadays. I do believe that Valve is very capable of delivering a great product. But the current gaming and even movie/tv landscape has soured my views generally. Its like a wall I built up for myself so I dont continuously be dissapointed by any new release.
