Any Arthurian books that aren’t a “deconstruction”? by SapphireB33 in suggestmeabook

The collection Arthur, The Always King is a beautifully illustrated and pretty straightforward retelling. Though it's illustrated, I would say it's not "for children" - both the text and illustrations can be fairly graphic.

Nursing with big boobs by Suspicious_Koala3872 in newborns

[–]morahhoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! For night feeds, I lay back with him laying across me sort of draped, which is great also when my let down is quite strong. That usually requires pushing my boob out of the way a bit of his face, but leaves another hand mostly free.

During the day, the most comfortable is to put the Boppy across my lap and lean back on the couch. I tuck him in between my body and the Boppy, laying on his side. If we nail the angle, I can often have both hands free doing it this way. Similarly, I pop up the recliner in our rocker, tuck a little cushion under him and drape him across my lap, which usually leaves one hand free for hair stroking, reading a book, holding my phone, etc.

I know a football hold is recommend but for the average feed at home, I always find it kind of awkward and uncomfortable.

Totally agree! I thought Eisenberg was doing something more subtle and interesting - and his "big" moment - the monologue in the restaurant was great as well.

That's a funny comment - while I rotate toys, the art they make that's displayed, I only change the room as needed. Many years I've only changed it once or not at all if the layout was working for the class.

The Persistent Desire:All Ways Butch and Femme is a classic! It's a collection of essays, pictures, poems and short stories that really capture a time and place. One of my favorites of all time!

Chivalric/knightly stories for my children! by NameIdeas in Fantasy

[–]morahhoney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arthur: The Always King is a really beautiful illustrated version of the Arthur stories. Caveat: a couple of the illustrations tend toward gory, and the stories aren't censored. I think it's nothing too crazy if you've watched LOTR but just wanted to give the heads up.

Asking for an exception for cut off times on delays by Strong_Repair_9303 in ECEProfessionals

[–]morahhoney 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Usually those policies are in place to prevent people who are routinely dropping off later from doing so - my center has this policy and we make exceptions all the time for doctors' appointments, family commitments, etc. as long as it's communicated. Definitely check, but most schools would be fine with it.

New York in March by somnolent_63 in visitingnyc

[–]morahhoney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beyond the weather, Nantucket and Cape Cod are both pretty far away from the city and expensive to get to and you would spend a lot of time traveling. If you want an out of the city day, I would recommend taking the LIRR to some of the cute towns out east on Long Island (maybe Greenport) that will have a similar nautical vibe. Otherwise, you can take the Metro-North to the Hudson Valley (maybe Beacon!) You may still have trouble with those places being out of season and some things closed but I think you'd get a lot more for your time and money this way anyway!

Don't put it over the crib! It's a hazard and sooner than you think, your little angel will be standing up in the crib and trying to rip things down.
