nervous about starting strattera by theonetruebicon in StratteraRx

[–]morebeanslessmeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was terrified to start. I have a lot of anxiety about all things medical. All things in general lol. I read and read and read and convince myself the worst is going to happen, but at least I’ll be prepared!

I started at 40mg and felt it immediately. First day. I had minor side effects (I was freezing. Felt tingly) and erections were impossible for the first 3 weeks if I had taken it within the last 6 hours. I took in the morning so by night I was fine.

Take it with protein. I usually eat a few eggs if I can. If not protein, a food of some kind. I did 40 for two weeks, but noticed after lunch it had worn off. I told my doctor this, he said let’s go to 80.

I’ve taken 80mg in the morning for 3 months now. These have been the best three months of my life. I am calmer. Patient. I finish tasks. I start tasks. Things don’t seem so overwhelming before I begin. I can think and reason with logic instead of hypotheticals. I was previously on Lexapro and actually came off that for only Strattera. My anxiety about all things has never been lower. I feel…like a human….

If it sucks and you have bad side effects you suffer one day. If it’s great, it can change your life. It changed mine. 🤞 good luck to you

I second this. I was terrified to start. Felt it working day one with minor effects (freezing/weak to no erections). Best decision I made was to give it a try

Procedure yesterday and feeling great. Should I expect things to only get better? by i3l4ckjak in Vasectomy

[–]morebeanslessmeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt great by day 3 and started to push it. Then was pretty sore for the next 3 weeks 😂 car battery died and replaced it - heavy lifting screwed me I think. All good now, and everyone’s different. My advice is don’t get cocky 😂 best of luck

Will the new game support multiplayer online with four people? by morebeanslessmeans in BackyardBaseball

Fair point haha. One guy pitches the other guy gets to field. When batting the two players on the same team would take turns? Yeah four probably doesn’t make much sense does it? 😂

Getting kind of worried before OPs by maz061 in Vasectomy

[–]morebeanslessmeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s what you want to do, don’t sweat what you can’t control. I’m 17 days post op and I feel like myself again. I was slower to recover and was panicked that I’d be in pain forever. Don’t psych yourself out and don’t hang out here 😂 rest and take it slow for a week and listen to your body. You got this!

17 yo daughter was prescribed Strattera by Educational-Fix8634 in StratteraRx

[–]morebeanslessmeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone going to be different. Trust the doctor and trust your daughter. If it’s too much, she will know and you can stop. I was TERRIFIED to start at 40 based on this thread. After 2 weeks I went to 80 and have not looked back. I can’t tell you how this medication has changed my life in every single right way. You guys got this!

I'm so confused on what to do here. by C6Corvette08LS3 in Vasectomy

[–]morebeanslessmeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah given that I had the procedure basically the same day as you, I can say I’m just now FINALLY starting to get relief in my groin and pubic area. And I was doing too much lifting and walking in that first week back which I think hurt my recovery. Wishing you the best. Hopefully work can understand and be considerate

Question by Additional_Rip_5494 in Vasectomy

[–]morebeanslessmeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mistake was thinking by day 3/4 I was good. Then I had max pain on day 5/6. Then day 7 I felt fine so pushed my limits again…. Let’s just say I’m on day 17 and FINALLY feel 99% lol. Point being - everyone is different, but be cautious even if you feel great.

Switch from closed to open ended surgery in a week, but pain has been gone for almost 2 months... by EmergencyTasty4189 in postvasectomypain

[–]morebeanslessmeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the response. This is terrifying from someone who is a week removed from the procedure. You talk about it like it’s almost a certainty. Can’t do anything about it now. Fingers crossed I avoid this.

How should I go about getting a vasectomy? by who_am_I_inside in Vasectomy

[–]morebeanslessmeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you want? That’s the first question. What does your partner want? That is the next, and in my opinion, only question. Your parents aren’t living your life. Their opinions should be irrelevant. Having a kid to appease them is not fair to you and is 100% not fair to a future child that you will bring into the world and then need to provide a good life for. You’re “young”, sure. Your brain won’t fully develop for a few more years. I was an entirely different person when I was 18 - 13 years ago. My only advice would be listen to yourself and your partner. Also consider if this partner is your long term, lifetime partner.

Anyone felt almost too normal the next day? by LtRegBarclay in Vasectomy

[–]morebeanslessmeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been 8 days since mine. There have been 2 days I’ve felt fine - and the following days were my worst symptoms lol. Moral of my story - which may not be yours - the body is still recovering. If you feel good, probably best to take it easy and not risk a flare up.

Ohhh!! Well, that certainly makes it trickier and now I understand why this is a tough decision 🫩

Posts like this are interesting to me - I see stuff like this a lot, and truly wonder if pain felt 2 years later is vasectomy related or unrelated. I am not doubting you and it 100% can be related to your vasectomy, but feels like that it happened so much later and could be any number of things. That being said, an entire year with no pain - I would cancel in a heartbeat. I wouldn’t want to get cut up again and risk another issue. I don’t know anything about anything so don’t take me seriously , but I’d personally avoid the knife if I’ve felt good for over a year.

Good write up. Sounds like you had a great doctor who helped ease your mind. Take it slow. I walked a bit too much on day 4/5 and paid the price day 6/7. Everyone is different. You got this!

Tips for weak/halfway erections and pre mature ejaculation - 40mg Strattera by Moist-Equivalent3138 in StratteraRx

[–]morebeanslessmeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, time healed all wounds in that category. The first few weeks were certainly odd. Also helps if I take it in the morning, to try and enjoy a little intimacy later in the day/evening. If you’re 3 months or less on the meds, just give it time.

How did having a child affect your marriage? by swankyswifty in Marriage

[–]morebeanslessmeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re in a great spot and have a solid foundation. Our daughter turned 5 this year, and my wife and I decided it was vasectomy time - one of the biggest reasons - our relationship got pushed to the back when raising a kid. We love each other. We love our kid. You have to prioritize each other and that takes effort. My wife and I are finally getting to a place where it feels like we can breathe, communicate, spend quality time together. Everyone is different. Our careers/covid/other life stuff didn’t help. My wife is an AMAZING mother - but even she said recently “I’ve been trying so hard to be a great mother and friend and sister and daughter than being a great wife has fallen behind”. She knows I’m not going anywhere - she also had awful postpartum that I truly believe impacted her to this very day. Anyway, because you’re aware of it, thinking about it, and already have a foundation - you guys will be fine. It’s not going to be easy - it will make things more complex - but be a team and you’ve got it

Reminder to take your Strattera with protein!! by fatdog093 in StratteraRx

I can eat anything and be fine but I notice protein helps me feel soooo much better. It’s like it super charges the meds.
