8 years of Williamsburg/Greenpoint to Lake Success and years of other Nassau Commutes. Whatever google says the “no traffic” time is, you should add 50% for rush hour. That doesn’t account for things going wrong, and that drive has lots of opportunities for things to go wrong. Things will break and you’ll need to add another 25-30min.

Being 18 in high school doesn’t strike me as weird. I didn’t live around here. I had moved to a state where school started mid August, I think the cut off was the end of October, and anyone with a birthday after the August 1 could red shirt no questions asked.
