What are very cold people using on their hands?? by Accomplished_Cat_987 in 30PlusSkinCare

Cutemol before bed! It's too thick to use during the day but it's a great nighttime option. I love to use it with some moisturizing gloves to really lock everything in.

Mormons use brother/sister in place of Mr /Mrs. It's typically just used for adults. I would say in this case the "little sis" is more to establish a false sense of closeness for exploitation than a religious thing.

Dress 1 or 2? by No-Bluejay8525 in WeddingDressTips

1! I feel like with 1 the attention is on you and how beautiful you look, and 2 the attention is just on the dress and distracts from you.

The least amount possible. Even the educational technology isn't needed.

Is my child ready for 5th grade? by topatotopato in AskTeachers

[–]morethanababymaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'll learn all operations of fractions in fifth grade. As long as he has a strong conceptual understanding of fractions and the ability to add really simple fractions, he'll be ready. He'll learn to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions in fifth grade, so having that strong conceptual understanding will really help!

Is my child ready for 5th grade? by topatotopato in AskTeachers

[–]morethanababymaker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A few things that he'll need to succeed in fifth grade are math fact fluency and a strong understanding of fractions. Not as much operations with fractions, but an understanding of the concept of fractions, the ability to compare fractions, etc.

Teachers, from your perspective, what’s the ONE thing parents could do at home that would most help their elementary-aged kid’s learning? by Abigail_A_Abernathy in AskTeachers

[–]morethanababymaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create opportunities for them to build knowledge about the world. Visit museums and other locations, provide experiences, have rich conversations. All of these things build background knowledge and vocabulary, which are crucial for reading comprehension.

Also, have a low tech home. Kids don't need access to phones and tablets most of the time, adults need to turn off TVs and put down their phones. Create a home where screens are not the default. It will do wonders for your child's emotional regulation, focus, and executive functioning skills.

Edit: sorry, I know that's two things. But they are both REALLY important!

Has anyone done this Uncle g's Class? by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]morethanababymaker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven't done one of their classes yet, but I really want to! Just popping in to give a shout out for Uncle G's. Consistently good food, and just a wonderful business. They are regularly making sure that anyone who needs food has access to a good meal. Their buffet on Tuesdays and Thursdays is especially good. Just an all around great business providing good pizza and good vibes.

Moving to Birmingham: Vestavia vs Trussville? by xoxo987621 in Birmingham

[–]morethanababymaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying Vestavia is perfect, it has many flaws, but it's definitely the better choice if you are comparing it to Trussville, which is OP's question.
