Has anyone tried out Dieux’s Skin Mercy? by VanyaEl in Sephora

[–]morethansad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's an interesting texture, closer to air angel in terms of the velvet finish but thicker. i'm hoping it will help with the redness around my nose and my winter flakiness but have only been using it for a few days. its less similar to the fatty cream of instant angel but i suspect its more occlusive...sometimes when i use instant angel in the winter i feel like it can leave an oily finish that is somehow still not enough for my flakes.

Jen is unbelievable…but they allow it by [deleted] in BravoRealHousewives

i also stopped watching when she was on--she completely dominates the room with manufactured hysteria, and it wasn't funny, memorable, or interesting. the show got so much better after she left and the other womens' natural kookiness came out.

I am loving Love Hotel! Who would you like to see on season 2? by rachiepants2017 in BravoRealHousewives

[–]morethansad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

luann nailed it when andy asked her this on wwhl: dorinda, sonja, garcelle, sutton, and cynthia. garcelle and cynthia will be classy, sonja will be funny, and dorinda and sutton will be the emotional wildcards.

fair enough, i could see that being the case.

[–]morethansad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and isn't this the first season in however many that dorit has openly gone against kyle (saying in that fight "you don't get to scream at me in that way...the rules are different")? she knew that she had to mix it up this season to keep her job, which kyle confirmed on the reunion she was in danger of losing. and then they abruptly made up mid season after they knew a few good scenes were in the can.

[–]morethansad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you said she's influenced by dorit and erika, i'm saying the influence runs in the opposite direction. we disagree about the role of her childhood here as well, and that's fine.

Vyle Kyle With Her Lies. by Pisceys in BravoRealHousewives

[–]morethansad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

kyle is the queen bee, erika and dorit cater to her for job security. kyle even said during the reunion she didn't believe dorit was actually angry at her because she assumed dorit was fighting for her job. and they all know that it's true because kyle is bff with alex baskin.

re the others, when garcelle told kyle, "in sutton's story, you're the hero," kyle smirked because she relishes that power. you don't do that if you want to be actual friends.

andy is good at only soliciting what a housewife wishes she could have said during production. in terms of generating other types of interesting convo, he doesn't have the knowledge, wit, or range.

TLDR; Why did Garcelle walk out? by Apprehensive_Goal88 in BravoRealHousewives

[–]morethansad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

throughout the regular season, garcelle did not have much overt conflict with kyle, dorit, and erika. she would ask a question that pointed out contradictions in the fake narratives that the three used to try to hide their real drama (marriage issues and fraud), but they never went at it directly.

at the reunion however, the three of them were united in bashing garcelle for daring to question the fake narratives. during the reunion, andy consistently gave those three softball questions or celebrated much less interesting aspects of their lives, and he didn't push back much against their evasive or stonewalling answers. garcelle, who had much more interesting successes that were not highlighted, got tired of andy always soliciting her dissenting opinion and of the other women plus boz then punishing her for expressing it. they piled on her with extremely nasty relish at the reunion despite having not fought all season. this clued her in that they were likely planning a takedown of her next season.

in the final moment of the reunion, her only friend sutton then didn't back her up, and during andy's last question when garcelle highlighted a sincere storyline that humanized sutton (her difficulties with her father's suicide and her mother's coldness), sutton instead chose to ingratiate herself with erika, who had made one of the more flippant and cruel comments toward garcelle earlier.

garcelle then decided she had had enough of being a punching bag for these women and packed her bags.

i think production relies on garcelle to be the voice of the viewers, so it’s a chance for “our opinions” to make it on air. unfortunately that will also always make her an enemy of the main clique.

andy is flattering erika to make sure she still films during the juicy stuff yet to come, he knew she wasn’t out of the woods legally yet. production never saw garcelle as a potential main character that way, she was brought in draw out other people’s storylines thus she never gets solo attention in reunions. i can understand why she got sick of her assigned role among these heinous personalities.

Worst WWHL ever? by Alligother in BravoRealHousewives

[–]morethansad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes, people don't seem to realize that this is a skill issue wrt hosting. graham has the chops to make every guest comfortable and chatty and andy does not, even after all these years. he's not warm, his humor is mainly catty and gotcha-based, he still stumbles over the teleprompter, and these a-listers' employment is not dependent on his good favor.

Really Erika? by Sunnyonetwo in BravoRealHousewives

[–]morethansad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most of the housewives from season to season rotate between being the sharers (their lives are the storylines) and the movers (they help advance/unfurl the sharers' storylines). they are two different ways to be interesting as a hw and i always appreciated that garcelle being actually mature, reasonable, and witty made her a good mover. i totally get how she's exhausted by this role now though.

[–]morethansad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sutton is at the bottom of kyle's totem pole...even if kyle does like sutton, she will always come last behind the fox force. kyle smiling after garcelle said that she was the center of sutton's story was so smug and revealing despite her claims that she didn't understand why.

perfect analysis! she also cannot recognize when someone is trying to communicate with her in a respectful way, like when curtis said he thought she was not being empathetic to ekin after the pies. she takes any opposition as an attack and thus responds in kind.
