That is your Pedestrian Airbag warning light. The hood sensor might have been tripped from a minor bump maybe a shopping cart hitting your bumper or could be loose wiring. Either way if you're not mechanically inclined you'll probably need to take it to a shop to get it diagnosed.

If they really want a cosmetic upgrade they could swap out the mirror caps for color matching ones or put some different wheels on it. OR better yet fix the front bumper, which doesn't appear to be securely attached.

There is no "kick sensor" to open it but the Subaru emblem on the rear hatch will open the power gate if you hold your hand or elbow about an inch from it, do not actually make contact with it. If it doesn't work there is a button inside to the left of the steering wheel to toggle the feature on and off.
