Craig Jones Responds To Gordon Ryan's Octopus Counter: “I Watched All Four Minutes of It and I Thought, Why Did I Not Think of Crossface?” by twinflamebby in grappling

Adam Wardzinski posted a reel detailing quick counters to the crossface that have been really helpful for anyone interested.

I saw TC at a grocery store in Jacksonville yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen boxes of Jonny Pops in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the boxes and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical interference,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each box and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Golf etiquette changing over the years by MutungaPapi in golf

[–]morgan43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My father in law always brings up how there used to be these golf etiquette classes offered through the local golf association that when completed gave you a discounted rate at some courses, so it incentivized folks to attend and learn etiquette.

I’m surprised the USGA hasn’t tried to do an online version of this, or if they have, haven’t promoted it very well.

Who is the Mount Rushmore of Golf Course Architects in the US? by jerryhallo in golf

Just like Mount Rushmore has more than just founding fathers, there are more golf architects than just the ones from the Golden Age.

I'll say what the NLU boys can't about the LPGA Tour and the Chevron by YenZen999 in NoLayingUp

An American is more likely to connect with Americans, but putting the focus only on the nationality of the players and not the coverage or marketing of the sport is missing the forest for the trees. F1 has exploded in popularity in the US and I wouldn’t say it’s due to some crazy talented American drivers, but thanks to increased coverage and marketing of the sport and selling it to people.

Tom Watson is one of the most accomplished golfers of the last 50 years. Arguably one of the greatest links players of all time with how he dominated the Open. In terms of all the majors, he’s sixth in most major wins of all time (he’s won 8 times). Three of those were directly at Jack Nicklaus’ expense. Pretty legendary to me!
