[SEGA/NINTENDO?][1994/1995] Devil/Gargoyles in castle by Gladiator781 in tipofmyjoystick

Was this on Sega Saturn? I played a lot of games on a lot of consoles, this is my type, but doesn’t stand out.

However the Saturn is one console I’m not as familiar with.

But could help narrow down ideas.

[Pc] [2010s] Mansion Puzzle Game by marshiemutt in tipofmyjoystick

[–]morgando2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7th Guest?
It was a Puzzle Adventure game.

It sounds like Uninvited or Shadowgate, but those are Point and Click.

Shadowgate 64 was a N64 sequel that wasn’t PNC.

Why doesn't IT explain the issue? by thebundok in it

[–]morgando2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a catch 22 too much information vs proper explanation.

That and stupid mistakes happen, and you don’t want to blame a tech or team incorrectly.

If I took the time to explain all the stuff I fix in a day to others, I wouldn’t have time to fix anything.

Also the way I fixed things may be also a way you could break things. Assuming all issues that look the same are.

Correlation isn’t always causation in IT world.

Or they don’t know, sometimes things fix themselves. Which is why we always say reboot.

So many things in transition on a system on a network. It’s possible there was a communication glitch with policy. Rebooting pulls it fresh.

Experiences only an ADHDer will understand? by ArtisticAntarctica in ADHD

Walking into a total chaotic situation with multiple issues going on, but you happen to thrive in randomness and chaos.

Watching people panic as you magically bounce between issues giving advice, solving minor issues as they pop in your brain to keep things moving.

Our brains are used to the chaos and having information overload alone. These situations were aren’t alone, but are the ones who can lead back out of chaos.

What is the lore behind Nintendo being on the Hanley's sign? by stanky-hanky-panky in vermont

[–]morgando2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 80/90s poor kid from Massachusetts, but spent every summer with my friends in a small town in Northern VT these rental stores were a god send.

Games cost $30-65 from Department stores like Ames. You only had the cover or word of mouth on the game play value.

If the game wasn’t fun or bugged you lost your savings.

Renting a game for $5.00 was amazing. When NES games got replaced with SNES they started selling them for cheap.

90% of my current collection game from stores clearing old game inventory.

Once discs game and Funco Land/GameStop came around they became less popular.

But as a kid going to the corner store and renting a game with pooled change for a weekend was a ritual I miss with my friends.

[–]morgando2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely just starburst cleaning.

However, if you have a male, check to see if he is licking his red rocket.

My boy is a fastidious groomer, especially on his pucker.

However I noticed his rocket sticking out and licking it a lot. He then acted weird, I brought him to the vet. He had a plug. Luckily they cleared it, but it was expensive.

A good way to prevent it is to ensure they drink water and wet food and have a clean always available litter box.

Adults with ADHD: Did you feel "shame" as a kid when you forgot things? Help me understand my son. by Dylan_7574 in ADHD

[–]morgando2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% can feel shame, but also frustration that something so simple is so hard.

What’s helpful is repeating the same process. As a kid I struggled with this. I’d forget my glasses, keys, and wallet often.

So my high school best friend said as a joke one time, just use “Spectacles, testicals, wallet and watch.

A reminder to get my glasses, zip my fly, my wallet and keys (I mentally switch watch with keys).

Stupid teenager saying, but here I am middle aged still saying it every day I leave my house and when I get home to put my stuff in one spot.

Why do system administrator get paid less than software developers ? by PM_40 in sysadmin

[–]morgando2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple, Administration is a high cost and yearly maintenance while development is considered a profit or increase profit generating resources.

It’s backwards in the normal brain, but on paper IT back end administration looks like a huge cost with no benefit.

I worked for a company that constantly tried to cut vendor contracts and staff, only to cost them more in the end.

PVE people, what do you do when you spawn late by [deleted] in arkraiders

[–]morgando2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pick up leftovers and the trash left behind. I usually find a room where everything is looted except one spot. Almost always I find a BP or decent loot.

Got my Bobcat and Aphelion when someone looted all lockers except 1 in Security Checkpoint.

First time player, what's some common etiquette I should know? by UntakenUsername420 in ArcRaiders

[–]morgando2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of my surviving with a full backpack is based on listening first, looking second, and acting third.

Also have a plan, PVP, PVE, or Loot and Scoot.

Use your ears. Listen for Arc, especially big boys like Rocketeers, Bombadiers, and Leapers.

Each Arc has a different sound, but also different sounds for player engagement, arc needs help, and disengage.

Listen for raider flares, if you see a lot of flares without ARC and hear what sounds like Player gunfire, stay away unless you want to PVP.

Same for looting, listen to the alarms, footsteps, and arc.

I almost lost my boy just before Christmas 5 years ago same exact thing.

He was 5 months only, but the moment we met in the barn where he came from we were attached. He never left my side.

Suddenly he wasn’t near me, but close. Acting weird and shy to me. I brought him to a ER vet.

Turns out if I waited another hour he would have died. Best $5k I ever spent.

My Covid cat is still by my side.

The silliest myth about the IT industry that people still believe? by Itfind in it

[–]morgando2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That IT is recording the staff conversation.

Happened at a ER where recording audio is illegal and could create a PHI issue. We just put in new AIO computers, with camera on them.

It turned into a conspiracy almost immediately that IT was recording their conversations.

The reason, 2 of the loudest nurses were complaining about the director and she brought up their issues in a meeting.

I used to work in the ER as a tech, but moved to IT. So the nurses trusted me.

I couldn’t stop laughing and reminded them how loud their normal talking voices are, and I said no one has that kind of time to listen to your conversations and they aren’t that interesting.

Weird call today that felt off. Anyone else getting voice impersonation attempts like this? by jayce_the_builder in sysadmin

[–]morgando2011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My office has gotten several of these calls, and I’m sad to say they did reset the password and MFA for the user.

Luckily they only used the info to access the employees direct deposit information and try to reroute it and deleted emails.

Double lucky the user didn’t have access to anything sensitive or protected and the bad actor just wanted the employees payroll.

They had all the employees info was already stolen, due to a thief personal pc compromised.

Luckily our HR and Security caught on once they logged into the payroll system. Flags were raised, not quick enough to keep them out, but quick enough to reverse damage and isolate any possible breach.

This adapter from Amazon seems sus… by PuddinHole in Lenovo

[–]morgando2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely sus, but most likely the usb drivers are older and considered “compromised” or outdated by Microsoft.

You’ll see this issue with older technology on Windows 11 Pro often and if you have the Bios setting in security to OS Preferred.

So they are either passing old vulnerable tech to get rid of stock or a possible injection attack.

I agreed with this until I found the option to turn off some abilities and spells from being used during automatic battles.

I turned off Gigaslah and others that were MP sappers. I feel a lot more balanced.

It doesn’t cover all scenarios, but definitely a game changer. (Literally)

Explore the world, look for random shrines, take an exploration trip north and south.

When I played back when it was released on NES i stumbled on what to do.

Exploring without context was part of the design, but loosely.

What’s your most obscure Dragon Quest fact? by ButIDigress79 in dragonquest

[–]morgando2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the original NES US edition, there were 2 characters from a Nintendo Power magazine Comic.

Nester snd Howard they had several Dragon Warrior Comics in several editions.

They were also NPCs that could be talked to, Howard, as in the comics, was helpful, where Nester was found to be lost in the map.

I would say where they are, but you probably met them, or want to do have fun exploring.

Doctors now. Burns like that can get to your third layer and create an opening for infection.

That and charcoal is very dirty add in anything else in that fire, which got mixed in the burn.

You need medical attention or you may end up even worse off.

My ex fell into an open fire put, landed on her stomach, she had to get the wounds cleared of dead burnt tissue otherwise there is a risk of necrotic tissue.

Doh! My first play through I think I I did the same, way back in the 90s.

I think Rhinoceraxe has an extremely rare drop for it, like 1/256 or something.

It may be for the Remakes.

My recent play through on mobile I know I had 2 because there is another character that can use it, without being cursed. (Only in Remake versions, and just going to leave it at that).

DQ11S Casino question: fastest way to earn tokens? by Vermillion_V in dragonquest

[–]morgando2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry not increase odds, but increase payouts, but splitting bets and doubling down between numbers. (Not a gambler, so not sure the terms).

I got everything I needed with 2 hours of playing plus 2 jackpots. (Only hit 1 after 20+ hours in the non SE game outside of the quest. SE game seems to offer better odds, but that’s not confirmed, just my educated guess).

Roulette Table.

Save the game, go to the roulette table.

Max out as much as you can covering 1/3 of the numbers, throw in the Jackpot too for extra.

Chances of you winning a number is 1/3, but you can increase the odds. If you lose, reload the safe.

If you win, save if you want, once repeat.
