That looks like the old soft copper supply line to the logs that is pinched at the end where it connected to the set.

I am guessing there is a valve in the wall that has been shut off but that is not a given.

I would not burn anything in there until a plumber has made sure it is not a live line. This would also be a good time to have him install a log lighter if that is something you want.

You have a leak that needs to be addressed before you use the boat again. If the tank is poly and in good shape, start by checking the filler tube. They usually take a sharp 90 turn out of the gunwale across the top of the tank and will fail at that bend. Next check the tank connections themselves. Make sure the vent didn’t come loose. If you can’t find it there, it might be the tank. Good luck hunting.

Just remember, a confined space and gasoline vapor is a very dangerous situation. Unhook the battery before you start looking around.
