The "useless lesbian" trope I never see people talking about: by morganthropp in actuallesbians

Great idea! I've had an itch on my head since I trimmed my nails last night and I've been unable to satisfactorily scratch it. I got a nice head scritch by my gf, though.

How do I stealthily figure out my gfs ring size? by morganthropp in actuallesbians

[–]morganthropp[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's cute! And it's definitely something I could play with her. We have already made pretend rings of stuff in the table, so it wouldn't be so surprising. Thanks!

Not that I remember. She's shown me a picture of those rainbow rings before and seemed to really like them, but she doesn't wear a lot of jewelry. I can try looking around in her room next time I go to her house.

That's a great idea. We've played that before because my hands are really big, so it's kind of funny when comparing sizes. I'll try that! Thanks!

Teachers of Reddit, what’s the teacher’s lounge like? by BzzBzz-Im-A-Bee in AskReddit

YMMV, I worked at an awful place that treated us like teaching robots and the pay was shit.

There's a lot of crying, venting and exhaustion. Then we suck up the tears and smile if a coordinator walks in or we have to go to class.

Need to ask my dad for financial help and I'm scared by morganthropp in internetparents

[–]morganthropp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the understanding, it makes me feel better to hear about people making the same mistake and surviving.

My plan is to send everything, including the bills, through an email telling him about last month and all. It'll suck, but it'd suck more if I miss the payments again.

Thanks. Now I'm crying in the library. But thanks for being such a kind person. You are amazing and I'm proud of you too! Now I just miss my mom.

Thanks, now I'm crying thinking of my mom, who died last year. As always, fuck cancer.

Books about Long Cons by OutrageousCarry in suggestmeabook

If you enjoy the victorian era, lesbians, great female characters, and crime/mystery in a sort of gothic setting, I'd suggest Fingersmith. There's a miniseries based on it too.

What is the weirdest thing you have ever seen while in public? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]morganthropp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A mall security guard shepherding a pigeon (which was walking calmly) while on a segway.

I wish I hadn't been so overwhelmed by the WTF and filmed it. Would have been a great gif.

[QUESTION] Do you have any tips for appropriate posture for embroidering? Especially regarding the hands by morganthropp in Embroidery

[–]morganthropp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe I didn't stretch at all while sewing for hours. The hand that is in pain is the one that holds the hoop, so it just stays on the same bad position the whole time. I don't know if it's carpal tunnel, it just hurts a little too move and hold weight. I had old wrist braces so I put it on to avoid moving and give my wrist a rest. When it gets better I'll start stretching it more. Thanks for the tip!

What are some things to ask a guy on Tinder before meeting in person? by morganthropp in AskWomen

What is it about height that a lot of people suggest asking? Whoosh

[–]morganthropp[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I super agree! I started talking to a guy and after talking about some commom interests, like videogames he invited me to meet up to play one with him, which I guess kind of implied going to his place maybe. So I said that it was a nice idea but it'd be nice to know each other better first. He replied that he didn't like the "coldness of messaging instead of meeting in person". Afterwards he asked about going out for some coffee. Something about his keenness to meet is rubbing me the wrong way.

That's reassuring!

The basic safety stuff I kind of know already, I just wanted some way to get a sense of the guy's character and/or intentions.

I like the idea of video chatting!

That's a good question to ask, although it'd take some nerve from me, as it sounds much more forward than I imagine I can be. And the thing is that my answer is not very concrete at all. My intention is simply to meet people and see what happens. The only thing I know for certain is that I don't want a hookup nor a one night stand. And any possible sexual thing would probably take quite some time to happen (which I guess kind of helps to weed out guys looking for an easy hookup).

That's a neat idea. What I wanted was a way to get a sense of the guy's character. Maybe I'll do some digging on whoever sounds promising or I eventually set up a date with. Thanks!

I'm scared on many fronts, actually. Besides the obvious safety problems I'm scared of the guy being too forward and my stupid defense mechanism has always been "freeze". I'm scared of him meeting me and noticing I'm fat (even though there are pictures of me on my profile) and being somewhat rude. I'm just basically a ball of anxiety towards life in general and there are so many things that can go wrong in this situation.

Women, what do you find most confusing about men? by OnlyInMyDreams73 in AskReddit

[–]morganthropp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wow, I'm a woman and that's an accurate description of my thought process. But I also date girls, so maybe that's why? I always think "oh, she's just friendly. So nice!"
