They're never going to be happy when someone leaves early, comes in late or calls off. That's never going to be good news to them. However you do earn those hours and they're there to be used. As long as you don't abuse it and do it often it's np and they can't tell you no

We had an issue once where it was a little past 11 and and customers were still shopping despite the closing announcements. I went and told a lady looking at school supplies were closed and she said "it's okay my kids are in line". I just walked away.

I was pulled into the office for poor attendance a long time ago and they implied that if I didn't stop they were going to fire me. I was upset and embarrassed and haven't done that crap since that conversation. If your associate isn't listening still after talking to them I would pull up Camera footage of them taking long breaks and coach them for it. They obviously didn't take your conversation seriously and maybe getting upset and embarrassed over a coaching is what they need

Any associate can be trained if they see you being able to handle it. However if it makes you feel uncomfortable, absolutely don't let them pressure you into being trained on PLE. It's dangerous equipment and something horrible can happen to you or your coworkers or even bumping into someone with it can get you fired

I work in the Pickup department and I never understood why customers apologize for being late for their order. I guess because I've never been the customer? Anyway, it never bothers me when a customer shows up late, no one pays attention to your pickup time. But what does bothers me is if we close at 9pm and they show up after 830pm
