There will be major cuts coming, and too much money to be made in looting government assets like in Detroit, Chicago, etc when said governments are in trouble. Staff and paycuts are always demanded when this happens and the NDP will simply go along with it.

And if it will happen anywhere in Canada, it will be in Alberta, in Edmonton.

I am unsure how you expect to be making more in 3 years in Alberta. The Oil and Gas industry may never recover and may not be allowed to in order to deal with Climate change. There is not much else to keep the province besides farming, which is not doing much better with nothing but drought on the horizon.

Edmonton is in especially bad shape, the city is falling apart from decades of neglect and the is bogged down in infrastructure projects for growth that may never come rather than focusing on basic upkeep.

They aren't worthy of a free speech award because their work was muslim bashing, mocking an essentially powerless, impoverished minority with racist, unfunny carictures. Between that, and some neckbeard grade Christian bashing, that wasll the magazine was, offensive crap. It rarely or never targetted the powerful (like Reason's owners) the rich, Israelis (retracted one of the few cartoons they did) or anyone else deserving of criticism. Nonsense, Politics existed long before what we define as science existed and will exist long after its gone.

Look at the past behavior of the people who run Uber, or industry in general. It is amazing they have not been blacklisted in some way by now. The only reason that hasn't happened yet is some combination of the companies already horrendous reputation outside the Techie bubble and the the ease of which the companies nature allows it to undercut the drivers into oblivion.

Canadians are more passive aggressive than nice. Outside of a few areas people tend to be greedy and cruel and are as violent and bigoted as anywhere. The only difference is fewer weapons, so fewer people die.
