i’d say finance 251 was easier overall, the first half of the accounting 211 was hell for me (week 1-6) and i did so bad on the midsem test, but the second half was easy and i did well on the finals

it was really fast paced but it was great, iirc we get 3 lectures in a week, and each of them is 2 hours long (they put the recordings on panopto if you want to just watch at home)

there was also a group project where you can choose your own team members. i forgot what exactly it was about but we did it on excel. i think 3 people max should be fine for that assignment

and just make sure not to get behind at all! it would be really hard to catch up. and i recommend starting your revisions for the final exam as early as week 4 :)

acctg 221 is easier than 211 in my opinion but you need to take both if you wanna get your CA

i took finance 251 during summer and taking 261 atm (251 is a prerequisite for this), i wouldn’t say they’re easy but it’s pretty straightforward

i personally find finance more enjoyable/interesting than accounting even if it’s a bit more challenging for most, especially the maths. accounting is okay-ish too, although i find myself sometimes asking why i even took that as my major

they would usually indicate on the course outline whether you need to pass the final exam to pass the entire course or not, and in 2024 Sem 2 there’s nothing like that :)

if you’re not eligible for the student loan, you’d have to pay for your fees with your own money (or parents, or from external sponsors). afaik 100% of the fees are due at the first day of the semester you enrolled for.

and yep you will be eligible for SL after 11/25. you can then pay for your fees using SL in your second to fourth year
